This question isn’t related to the video but does the pin length on a bowling matter anymore based on the new usbc rules? Kind of impulse bought a used P2 but pin length is longer than usual
@Barksbowling

I’d say for 99.9% of bowlers, the pin to CG distance, and where we put the CG on a symmetric bowling ball, won’t have an affect on how the ball rolls. Where the pin is located in relation to your PAP is much more important

One of the most informative bowling videos I’ve ever watched! As a 2 handed I always struggled with my shoulders being in the way watching him put his hand under the ball made a huge difference for me as I held it flat. Thank you so much!

Watching this video and then seeing the newer videos, kinda seems like the release has changed from coming around the ball to pushing the ball and being from the back of the ball. Am I correct ?

I think I see what I am doing wrong, not swinging my arm enough after releasing the ball. Must be some magic juju created from all the after release arm swinging. 🤣 I do see that I need to make a slight change in my release as I think I see what I am doing incorrect in order to get my ball hooking more. A Black Widow 2.0 should be crazy mad at the end, but mine barely moves unless I slow is down to under 14 MPH. If I throw at 18 MPH it is arrow straight. This is with a Bionic at full cup too.

Tuck your pinky is one way. But increasing your revs doesn’t necessarily mean more strikes

Hi guys. I'm new to your channel. I want to commend you guys for creating such great content. I just have a question. I recorded my release and I saw that my hand was never under the ball. Is it possibly because of the weight of the bowling ball or is it because I got used to my usual release? Any tip would help. Thank you!

Having a weak hand position can be either caused by habit or a bowling ball that's too heavy. Getting that strong hand position takes increased wrist strength and lots of practice to get right. The biggest obstacles in learning how to bowl with a strong cupped wrist is to avoid the tendency to squeeze the ball with your thumb and also to learn how and when to uncup your wrist just before releasing the ball. Envisioning rolling the ball rather than throwing it will help with this.

Does that mean the Jimoo has his hand more behind the ball during that epic 5-7-10? Excellent vid though. You guys are doing a really great job.

I think it is important for people to understand that a “strong wrist position” does not mean you are muscling in under the ball with a stiff or strong/firm wrist. It is a soft wrist in a strong position (under the ball) to impart max revs on the ball. It is about being relaxed and creating lag with good timing of the arms swing and elbow bend that leads to a great wrist snap or yo-yo effect. The looser you keep your muscles, the more lag you will be able to create which will produce a faster exit of the the thumb and allow more time for the ball on the fingers resulting in more revs.

I’m a relatively new bowler and I learned to hook without a thumb one handed and I had no problem hooking with plastic or reactive while still being able to strike and I recently got my own ball so I’ve been learning to hook with a thumb but I struggle being able to get around the ball and most of the time I just end up going straight behind the ball so the ball does all the work

Make sure the equipment you are using is drilled properly and the types of balls matter a great deal as well. Probably should error towards symmetric pearls
