What an interesting idea for the 8 gang switch install. brilliant as I was going to mount mine next to the steering wheel, much better idea. (Update) - I spent yesterday doing this install, instead of a chunk of plywood I used some high density foam for the switch mount inside the sunglass holder, worked like a charm also ran the heavy duty wiring for my secondary battery in the rear for the fridge etc.

The white wire is used to adjust the brightness of the button panel. You tap it to positive or negative, I can't remember which one.

When you added the fuse tap you added a 7.5 amp fuse. I assumed I would need a larger fuse to be able to handle the 60 amp controller? Im curious why only 7.5 amps is needed? Sorry, I know nothing about electronics.

The 7.5amp fuse is just for supplying the led panel lighting, so not drawing much if any current.

Mark is right, that fuse tap just grabs a little but of switched auxiliary power to wake up the panel.

Many thanks. Sorry for the late replies. Yeah, this is a sweeet power switch setup for a vehicle.

So do you just leave the white wire (light dimmer) unconnected once you determine the brightness and cover it with electrical tape and leave it dangling in the box? Or do you leave it connected somewhere? What does it mean when it says to connect the “White Wire” to the Width/Position Lamp or ACC or car adapter? Are we connecting and leaving it connected at all times to the wire itself or to the fuse?

You just tap that wire to adjust the brightness. Adding some electrical tape to the end is a good idea.

In the beginning when you show the switch panel in the sunglass holder, what was that made of? I know you show for the build your doing in the video is wood with adheivsive but it looks totally diff. Is that 3d printed or indeed wood molded to it?

Just wood with 3M tape. The piece of wood is small, you can’t actually see it in the early clip.
