Great video. Thanks for sharing this excellent video. I now feel comfortable doing this to hide my components.

Thanx for the videos ....👀Will it work if I connect the IR output of my Samsung TV directly to the IR receiver and then put an IR extended cable to an amp on another room instead of having an extra amp....I also wish to control the amp volume and tv volume with the same remote control PS: when I am on the tv room I switch to speakers A and speakers B when I am in the room where the amp is. Cheers!

The ir receivers in these systems always seem a bit poor needing a rather direct-beam to work. I've got other devices where you can point the remote anywhere in the room and they register it.

Can this be done without using the home network cabling you have? I can’t work out how to do it

First thing I would like to know that many IR recievers points are available on shown kit? Secondly can we expand the number of reciever with some splitter or switch?

Sandeep Kachhap Not quite sure I understand but if you were to take an ir receiver with say 4 ports and extend the main port to say your tv that would control those 4 ports at the main point. So if you had 4 devices to switch between you could do that. If you wanted to split anything at the other end you could use an adapter I imagine. Something like a y splitter.

Hi Great video. Just wondering how you managed to get the 3.5 jack cable into the RJ45 and crimp it?. I cannot seem to get mine in easily.

If you find that the wires keeps bending in the holes without going in then you may have more luck with cat6 plugs with the staggered holes (one high, one low, one high, one low etc.) as these have slightly larger holes.

Thanks cat6 plugs worked a dream!!

i dont think you needed the rca plugs, i think you can just splice those off and use beanies straight from blue wire on cat5 to red wire on ir emitter, blue and white on cat5 to white on ir emitter and the ground to the green cat5 wire

Mate this is exactly what I've been searching for now for days. Made my day finding this honestly! My situation is I have a myharmony hub and all my equipment in a cupboard in another room in a server rack. I forgot to run 2.5mm cable (the harmony hub uses this instead of 3.5mm) luckily the harmony ultimate has ir on the remote so it saved me. But it doesn't allow me to start activities with my phone app or Alexa etc as I'm not using the physical remote if that makes sense. Long story short. Would this work as I think the hub puts 12v through the cable to make it work? I tried it before with cat6 keystones but it didn't work. I think I messed up though as it seems you need to use a ground wire also? Your help would be most appreciated

Hi.. may I know how long did you run your network cable ? Also, what brand of IR receiver are you using (that has red LED flashing when IR signal is sent). Thanks

+Azman Hi, the network runs are approx. 15m and the IR receiver is just an unbranded Chinese product. Thanks Vince

Thanks Vince. I am hunting for the IR extender too (but most of them comes with only 1 receiver). Need to get additional 2 more IR receivers since the extender can support up to 3 receivers :).

How does this device pair the IR receiver with the IR emitter? meaning there are 3 inputs for receiver and 6 inputs for emitters. what is the right connection for receiver 1 to work only with its emitters and receiver 2 with its emitters? Thanks
@Mymatevince

+Shlomi Cohen It transmits all receivers to all emitters. It is the equipment it self (for example set top box) which will recognise the correct remote control.Thanks.

Does anyone know how to use this type of device with AVR Ir input/output functioning? Do you input the AVR with 3.5mm (m-m) cable to the output of ir repeater?

Gloria Lenis You would use it if you wanted to hide your equipment in a cupboard or under the stairs etc. but still wanted to use the remote control.

Hi, if the IR kit is set up on a set top box then when you change the channel in one room it will change the channel in all the rooms because the set top box has changed channel. This kit will not allow you to watch different channels in different rooms on the one set top box.
