It didn't work for me, the windows cannot access the server still, no network issue as SSH from the windows to the linux is working.

You need to check two things first check the status of the firewall it should be disabled and the second is SELinux should also be disabled. For more topics subscribe to our channel, kzitem.info/rock/vTQ6WM-MSvCFVNCEtI6HPg

To install and configure Samba on CentOS 8.1, you can follow these steps: Install Samba: sudo dnf install samba Configure the Samba daemon: Edit the /etc/samba/smb.conf file to set up the Samba daemon. You can use the following template as a starting point, adjusting the settings as necessary for your environment: [global] workgroup = MYGROUP server string = Samba Server %v netbios name = centos8 security = user map to guest = Bad User dns proxy = no [share] path = /home/samba/share available = yes valid users = sambauser read only = no browsable = yes public = no writable = yes Create a Samba user: sudo useradd sambauser sudo smbpasswd -a sambauser Create a directory for the shared folder and set the appropriate permissions: sudo mkdir -p /home/samba/share sudo chown -R sambauser:sambauser /home/samba/share sudo chmod -R 0770 /home/samba/share Start and enable the Samba service: sudo systemctl start smb sudo systemctl enable smb For more topics subscribe to our channel, kzitem.info/rock/vTQ6WM-MSvCFVNCEtI6HPg
