I love this instructional video. However, I am a marine technician, the way this was mounted is dead on. But, you should not be using 3M-5200 adhesive for this application. Clear silicone is all you need. Your motor is mounted with only silicon. 5200 is used for more permanent mounts, such as through hull transducers. That splash guard will likely get cracked or broken far before the boat will be junked, and trying to remove 5200 is not easy. Just a tip for you. You are by far the best fishing show I have ever seen!!!!!

Great video! I'm seriously considering the 175 or 185 tiller.... I troll frequently for trout and Kokanee and was wondering if there was adequate room for a kicker motor? I'm worried about the weight causing the boat to porpoise. Thank you again for all the great video.

Thanks for that--I did not know these were made. On the same track though, I am looking for (not sure the correct name) a "splash guard" that fits on the bow rail and snaps down to the fordeck. I have seen them on boats made from strong fabric--do you have or make these, or know where I can find them--or even what they are called? thanks

I have a question why do you prefer a tiller over a console. I use a trolling motor in the front of the boat and I have never found any issues. Just would like to know your preference thanks.

I Love Fishing Bass Fishing - I will make a video with a more detailed explanation at some point....some of the tiller talk is tongue-in-cheek (aka razzing)....however, for the same dimension of boat, a tiller offers more space, and the responsiveness of a tiller steering is far superior for boat control than a steering wheel. Yes, a trolling motor does a great job of bridging the gap in many situations, but for some angling situations - the tiller steering is supreme!!!

flexablile piece next to motor needs to be trimmed to fit around engine housing
@uncutangling

chuck other - That is a good idea if you want to reduce the bit of rub rash that the excess rubber in a tight fit will make on the motor cowling, however this excess will add extra splash protection when the motor is turned to the opposite direction, so I have never trimmed it myself.

There's no point to backtrolling when you've got a nice new Yamaha boat motor like that you can get that down to a very slow speed. The boat is made to go forwards
@uncutangling

Backtrolling is moreso used for holding on the spot, slipping, sliding, and stop/starting than actual conventional trolling.
