Appreciate the vid. I wore out my rear pads on my trident, ordered from revzilla, and knew what not to do, and what to do from your video. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the video, I am keen to do this upgrade. It would be good to get some subjective feedback on the pads after the upgrade. Perhaps when the Air Filter video drops? Which will be …? 😄

Just reached out to the triumph owner to respond. We are waiting to get everything for the flash before we do the filter since it will run super lean.

I’m the owner of the Trident 660 in the video. I’ve got to say, the improvement has been HUGE. The primary benefit of doing the pads and fluids was simply brake feel. I still can’t believe how squishy the brakes were when new from the dealership. Using the new pads and fluid, braking is far more immediate and communicated through the lever and pedal. A smaller thing I noticed was the elimination of some mild brake squeal I had been hearing after hitting about 3,000 miles on the stock pads. Apparently, the Trident 660 is not alone among Triumph’s lineup in suffering from some brake squeal. However, this has entirely disappeared since swapping out the pads and fluids. I’m not entirely sure why, but I’m definitely glad for it. At the end of March, I’ll be taking the Trident to the track. When we get back, I’ll be sure to give more feedback on the effectiveness of the brakes in that highly demanding environment.

The Trident manual doesn’t mention which Brake Fluid is used (Other than DOT 4) - do you know what the original Brand of fill is? And how many ml for Front and Rear if replacing? Is 1L enough for both? Your link for Speed Bleeders was a drop down list - do you know the specific SKU / Part Number?

I don't what fluid they use but the Motul is their racing line and I use it in my Yamaha R1 and R6. I thought the link went straight to the speed bleeder part number but here it is: SB8125L for all calipers front and rear. Hope this helps!

How many KM did you use your rear brake pads? And I realised something; the rear disc is always warmer than front discs. Is this normal? Although I have not used the both brakes, the rear disc is warmer from front disc. Maybe because of near the exhaust exit?

Hello, are link to the pads on the description the right ones? On the revzilla site, it says it doesn’t fit my 2022 Trident 660. Thanks in advance!

On a different topic. What front floating discs would you recommend? My other question is what do you think of the free spirits front Brembo brake kit for the trident and Tiger 660 and do you think the upgrade is worth it over the EBC pads change. What was the riders impression of the EBC pads upgrade after riding? Also, when I go to your link for the rear pads on Revzilla they say they don't fit the trident or the tiger 660. What gives? Do the 140's fit and are these the rear brakes you installed on the trident Thanks

I personally would never notice the difference of that Brembo upgrade, but the bling appeal is understandable. I don't think may people would notice the difference, especially if they had ABS on. Most riders are simply not riding at that level, and not braking often enough or hard enough to outride these EBC pads. My advice is get the HH pads, maybe the FAs if it is a track bike. Then if you are still having fade issues, look at the Brembo brake upgrade. But to be honest, at that point, maybe a different bike? If you are riding at that level, there are probably a bunch of features you want at that point, power, suspension, brakes, etc. My 2 cents.

You really only need to drop the retraining pin at the bottom to change the front.

You should FIRST loosen the brake pad retaining pin and THEN remove the caliper from the bike. Doing the opposite you probably would apply too much force to loosen the pad's retaining pin and the hose will be stressed too much. Moreover, NO screwdriver on the pads.
@rawcircoking

What would you have used to in that situation instead of a screwdriver on the pads??
@aventrax
3 ай бұрын
@@rawcircoking To push the pistons down simply put the old pads on, then you can use the screwdriver. Once the pistons are fully back in position you can insert the new pads. You must avoid the screwdriver or anything else on the new pads!
