I am thinking about using these lights and installing directly into a fresh-cut hole in the drywall. I have tested the fit, and the fit is fine, and it will stay in place with those flexible spring-arms. The issue I have is about is the electrical connection ... I would be cutting off the "bulb socket" end, and connecting the black and white wires directly to an existing run of 14/2 that is currently in the ceiling. The existing run of 14/2 has three wires in it (black, white, and copper ground). It's simple enough to connect the black and white wires from the 14/2 to the black and white wires coming from the light, but what do I do with the copper ground wire in the 14/2? Where do I connect that, or do I even need to connect the ground wire at all? Or is it even possible to set up the lights this way?

Quick question, my new led lights didnt come with a ground wire in the junction box, the romex I am using is 14/2 and has a groung. So my question is, do I run the ground wire and screw a screw into the box to tie the groung into? Or do I even need the ground? The model lights I have are 6in LED recessed Commercial Electric lights, its canless and uses a black junction box that only has a black and white quick connect.

Do you think it’s better to get those small flush LED lights that don’t need cans or go this route with the cans and led kits? Also, my house is old with two wires (Live and Neutral) would either option work for my wiring? Thanks so much!
