Didn't work for me either. Used to be so easy. I can only run it off the live usb flash drive. None the the options shown are available for installation even though I shrunk the partition by 50GB to make room for Linux. That always worked before. I changed the boot order in bios to boot off the flash drive first when it was plugged in. I saved the settings and it seemed to work but later it reverted to the old boot order. Is that a windows 10 thing or something else? I'm seriously considering removing the m.2 drive and replacing it with a new blank m.2 and making it a Linux only system if I can!

Either the USB is not set up correctly or Some setup in your BIOS is not right. Try to boot the flash drive on other pc. If it boots there the USB is set up correctly. You need to tweak some settings in your BIOS. 1. You might have to make USB priority device. 2. You might have to disable secure boot. If it does not boot try creatind Bootable flash drive again.

If it's still not solve from BIOS settings check GPT or MBR partition scheme.
