Thank you very much for this video. I had to make a repair to a 4” pvc drain line in my yard and used this method - worked perfectly. I took it a step further and wrapped it with mastic tape. Thanks again.

Nice video, however please not the following correction:The torque specification for no-hub couplings is definitely not 80 ft. lb. The specs are as follows: 60 inch pounds. (1½” - 10”) or 80 inch pounds (12” & 15”)

I don’t see anything that says from pvc to pvc with the shield, only to cast iron or only the one without the shield for pvc to pvc. You need the shield underground right? Could you link what you used? Thanks!

My concern is the hose clamps rusting and failing over time with these underground

Stainless can definitely rust, just not as fast. Better off with compression or slip fit.

I think your using the wrong fittings for an underground application...a Fernco type rubber fitting with two corrosion proof clamps I believe are for underground connections. A glue welded slip coupling when possible is always even better I'm sorry but the shielded no hub I'd best above ground for corrosion purposes. I believe that's also code

60 foot pounds for pipes of that size.

Can these couplings be used in a vertical orientation?
