Thanks for the video on this! For myself, I found it less awkward to put the pvc on the ground in a vertical fashion and push the tire onto the pvc. Lots of soap helps!

They are great wheels! If I could start over I would go with 1 more inch of backspace, jeep ended up 84” wide and I had to buy a different trailer.

How road worthy is this set up? Is this off-road use only or good enough for street use? Not talking DOT, just ride quality
@FlawedOffroad

its fine on the road but honestly the humvee 37s kind of suck. they are load range D or E depending on which you get, even the D are super stiff and hard compound. The grip on rocks is garbage. Mud/dirt and maybe sand is about the only place they shine. These are DOT legal, its normal ring based beadlocks that are not

I went this route hoping to be able to use the cheap as heck tires but its kind of bit me in the butt because I dont like them, and only interco makes better tires for the 16.5 wheels. they arent cheap and arent in stock lol

@@FlawedOffroad you'd think the E would be even worse then. Great info. I was looking at a set and now will reconsider.

@@jessicahiggins1982 if rocks are your thing I would definitely reconsider. There is another company that makes double bead locks in 17s that are just like this but they are very pricey. Can’t recall the name.

Oh yeah, I had to stretch that thing so far I thought it was going to rip and I would hold it stretched for like five minutes and soak it in hot water. After a bunch of stretching, it would finally hold long enough to sit in the groove long enough to get the wheel together

Whats the benefit?
@FlawedOffroad

It squeezes the tire bead against the wheel which makes it a double beadlock. You can roll on 0 psi Offroad and won’t lose a bead

So the BFG Baja are supposed to be a softer compound. Have you tried those? I just bought an M1101 trailer and it came with the Baja tires and was looking to get a full set for my H2 to have some fun with. But I was gonna stay away from the Goodyear because of how stiff they are.
@FlawedOffroad

Yes they are much softer that’s what I have for spares. The PVc insert just pops right inside of those in like 10 seconds

So these aren't really a run flat. They are a double bead lock, right? With a run flat if you puncture it, the tire will only get so flat. This just means the tires can't come off even with no air pressure. Both good but technically two different things.
@FlawedOffroad

Correct the PVc inserts are no longer a run flat but the ones that came with the humvee were a double Bead lock/run flat combo. I got rid of those and bought the PVC inserts because those things are heavy and don’t allow your tires to flex

@FlawedOffroad I'm actually in NC, scooped up a set today. The date code correlates with the big bang so hoping and praying they'll hold up. Definitely dig the trail worthy wheels, not fond of the process....run out. My budgets' tighter than a ticks azz though. right on, thats how i was when I did these. I got mine for $100 each they were new old stock so the dats codes varied from 08 to 16. the 08 and 09 were the ones that chunked out after about a year@@TheShrewdServant
