It costs alot less than a therapist! Lol There is a monthly subscription that you can cancel at anytime. It gives you access to ALL the courses and content! It is step by step.. and easy to follow, workbooks to apply the content to your life, experience, personality! There is alot though, I had some extra time and money and really needed it!! .. so I did a deep dive for a couple months, and have taken a couple months break from it.. to process and to apply all I learned. I canceled my subscription with no problems! I would definitely enroll again when I have more time and am ready to continue. Her videos in the mean time reinforce what I did learn and remind me i still have alot to learn and I can't do it alone... we all are in need of a good teacher! Too bad this stuff isn't taught in school as it should be.. it is truly priceless!

My 3 year old daughter loves riding on my shoulders.... Sometimes, she will scream in my ear because she thinks it's funny. I immediately take her off my shoulders and let her know that was painful... Aldo, when my 1 year old son is sleepong, my daughter will get so loud that she will probably wake up the sleeping baby. How do I teach her about boundaries and not being loud without traumatizing her?

How can we distinguish between what’s cultural and what is a charged judgment -or can they overlap? For example if someone -partner, husband brother, parent - screams at you for wearing something or tries to prevent you from wearing something that they feel is inappropriate, this could mean that it is a part of their shadow self to believe that wearing something that reveals any part of their body is shameful and they therefore don’t want you to wear something that reveals any part of the body… But what about when an entire cultural belief system such as toxic masculinity leaves an entire group of people to have judgment rather than discernment? In other words it seems that various subcultures can manifest varying degrees of imposed judgment because those things are a characteristic of an ingrained cultural belief that dominates the entire subculture or society such as in Iran where women are being tortured and killed for showing their hair in public. Based on this analysis, does that mean that all of the men in that society have repressed that part of themselves that allows them to feel comfortable showing their hair? In this case ‘no’ because men are showing *their* hair. In that case it seems like it’s a projection where *the female in those relationships is perceived to be an extension of the male and that his embarrassment comes not from his behavior but from how the female who belongs to him behaves*

Hi there, I’m a marriage & family therapist, I do love your videos and content and what’s being stated here may be accurate in theory but this really isn’t applicable in real life. My personal triggers which I have worked through a long time ago have always come from unmet needs of the past. For example, I would be triggered by people being insensitive toward me in any way, but when I reflect back I am extremely sensitive to others in any way I look at it. There is no hidden part of me that doesn’t. In fact all my triggers come from things people do that have been the source of pain in the past, it has zero to do with a part of me that does it. This statement is coming from me as a therapist and also from my own spiritual and personal growth journey. Anyway, I do love the content but think it’s imp to not always stick to the “theories” bc they’re not always accurate.

I understand the concept, but if someone is being a jerk to you…sometimes that person is just being a jerk bc they’re having a bad or something. Doesn’t necessarily mean you are now a jerk secretly. Idk doesn’t sound like it goes with all cases. How do you discern if something is your shadowside vs ppl just being mean? Like if someone ruined something of mine on purpose for no reason, I’m going to be upset about that. That doesn’t mean I ruin my own things, just something unjust happened. How is that now something on me?

Thais is talking about the *character traits* that trigger you in someone else to help you understand yourself so that you don’t allow these things in yourself and others. If you can set a boundary easily when someone takes your stuff it means that you’ve integrated part of your shadow self! But if you’re really upset about it.... where are you allowing people to break your boundaries in other ways? Is someone hurting you spiritually, or is a family member taking up too much of your time, or is a co-worker taking credit for your work on the job? Is your blind spot that you’re expecting too much from others? If so, what is your strategy for providing more for yourself? Particularly on a deeper level that no one can ever steal from you?

Are you overly attached to your possessions and material items, and judge yourself and other people by the amount of stuff you/they have? If so, what is your strategy to create a sense of security that’s rooted inside yourself?
@meganmcwilliams1873
3 жыл бұрын
No I’m not attached to material things, it was just a generic example I was saying. What I’m meaning is stuff happens randomly to you that you have no control over. I’m saying would you not be upset if someone ruined something of yours/stole your dog/took credit for your project for instance as you said? Or would you just be like oh, someone took my dog or took credit for my work? That’s a me problem. You don’t see those things coming, you don’t know that someone is going to do that to you. I honestly don’t think anyone would be content or happy that someone is wronging them. Like it’s ok to get upset that someone took credit for your project. You might be a person that never has had that happen, doesn’t mean you randomly now should think I don’t allow myself access to this kind of stuff. No, sometimes people do terrible things that aren’t related to your character at all. For instance on a more serious note, if you were held up at gunpoint or something, would you then be like that’s an aggressive/reckless trait. How am I being reckless and aggressive to myself? No, you can be upset that someone held you at gunpoint, sometimes things are not linked to your characteristics.
@margarets2924
3 жыл бұрын
Your example would be a reflection on you if this happened multiple times with the same person or you kept inviting people into your life that had no respect for your things. Then you would look at why you keep inviting these types of people in and why you don’t set boundaries for yourself. Yes, sometimes people are jerks but what Thais is saying is it’s how you react to and handle it that you need to look at.

This great conversation shows shadow work needs more clarification. I don't think a shortform KZitem vid can really do justice to a Jungian theory developed and refined over years, so perhaps the PDS course does that. That said, this channel has some of the most patient and respectful commentors I've seen on social.💕
