In strong current we use a trolling motor to drift at the same speed as the current to keep the line vertical. The motor is necessary to compensate for wind and differences in surface vs bottom current.

Seems like everywhere I search. It's live minnows. We don't use those in quebec Canada. Usually use a split tail in this situation. I was searching for a video on how to switch jigs faster while using a mono or flouro leader. Only way is to take the time to actually bite off the leader. I fish derbies in Northern quebec and were only allowed to use one rod and reel. With possible spare rod or reel of our choice. It's not like pro derbies. U get all options to make things easier. For us. Especially chaning conditions. Can't stick to one rod used for jigging or trolling or whatever. So we really have to commit to that rod style. It's tough. Our biggest derby is 50 k in cash.

they usually stick to back current or eddies and slack water to lay their egg so most of them won’t be in fast current like a trout

Where I am from, Saginaw, this would be poor technique. We try to stay as vertical as possible.

Ive found that mikado fishunter tt The one with silverish blue sides, black back and a little red under the "jaw" of the jig Works incredibly well for walleye I was catching absolutely nothing for a week straight, then i tried the fishunter and i got a 35 cm walleye on my first cast and a 60 cm walleye on my second cast. And then some good size perch as well. Not really releated to the video but just a tip for a good jig.

I’m talking about Detroit river current that’s no current right there that you’re fishing in do you want to see current come to Marine city, Michigan
