It is finally here! This is the tutorial for the beautiful "Join As You Go" technique I used in my crocheted sampler blanket. You don't do any sewing with this join - the squares are crocheted together on the final round of this joining method. This join is very pretty, with a twisted look and lays flat unlike the traditional JAYG method! You can adapt this join technique to other styles too such as granny squares and solid motifs, and I briefly explain how to do this at the end of the tutorial.

[US Terms]
Abbreviations - ch = chain | sc = single crochet | dc = double crochet | st = stitch
Round 1: Join yarn to any corner. Ch1, sc into corner space. * sc into each stitch along side of square, (sc, ch2, sc) into corner space * repeat between *s 4 times total omitting the final corner. Sc into corner space, ch1, sc into top of first stitch.
Round 2: Ch3 [counts as first dc], dc in corner space. * (ch1, skip next st, dc into next 2 stitches) repeat between brackets until corner space. (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in corner space * repeat between *s 4 times total, omitting the final corner. 2dc into corner space, ch2. Finish off with either slip stitch or invisible join. Cut yarn.
