This is not a “break out your multicoloured fountain pens and the expensive journal Nana bought from Indigo for Christmas” kind of journaling. Oh no!
This journaling style is messy and meant to be a safe place where you can be brutally honest, give yourself a voice to be seen, heard and validated, be one sided, win every argument you've ever had, swear, shout it out in all caps on the page and allow anything occupying space in your mind and in your body, that is a source of stress, to be actively released through the action of writing or typing it out.
I have found this style of journaling to be very healing and I know when I practice it, it helps me find relief with the chronic aches and pains in my physical body and provides me with a sense of overall relief.
