I am frequently asked this question. I would like to use a word "moss reactivation".
Here is a video showing how I handle those dry moss.
The points are:
1. completely wet it till it becomes green and soft
2. store it in a transparent box with little vent.
3. spraying water it every several days. As long as the container is moist, it is totally ok to water it per week.
4. Water makes it look green. It may be become yellower in next days but give in weeks it will geen again.
Please keep in mind: dryness can not kill moss.
You can use wetted dry moss right away (I will upload a video using dry moss) , or you can keep them till they are in best condition as my cover photo show.
Welcome any questions. I built lots of terrariums and besides buying them some times, I raise lots of various moss and I did many test too.
