DIY cabinet build in a passenger van while keeping the airbags for safety.
Originally I was going to remove the airbags and use resistors to bypass Ford Transits error code. That was until I removed the headliner and saw the airbag protects the driver. Ugh! That changes everything. I want the protection and want to use the dead space above the airbags for storage. After looking everywhere on how to build over the airbags, I couldn't find anyone showing how to do it. So I was just going to try and figure it out myself and share how I did it. This was one of the reasons I decided to start my KZitem channel. I hope this helps you in your build. This was a much needed part of my Ford Transit RV build. After watching this video you will see how you can put cabinets in your van while keeping the airbags.
This was done on a 2018 Ford Transit Diesel Van built to be a home on wheels. This is a 15 seat passenger van, 350HD, High Roof, Power Stroke, Turbo Diesel, Extended, Dually, Camper Van, Conversion that will be my Tiny Home, and traveling RV Van. I try to show all the steps and details to make it easier for the next person converting their van.
