I am so glad to find your site regarding killing wasps. Georgia resident at old home with lotsa porch flowers surrounding large porch. Last August almosrmt died from huge hornet sized wasp and almost died. Have Epipens and was stung twice last week when swarmed on from location on porch perceived to be free of a nest. Also was attached 2 years ago from ground nesting type when cutting 4 acres, multiple times. It's either no flowers or take back my porch.

Great video. I'm made a 1.5" hole out of 10oz water bottle, place a stick for them to crawl out. On my trap I added a piece of raw maple hickory bacon hanging down in the middle of the bottle from the screw cap. OMG!! They cannot refuse the aroma of that raw maple hickory bacon and drinking from the apple juice and boric acid. Your wasp problem will be gone under 7 days.

The Yellowjackets in the Sierra mountains don’t like sweet. In fact they seem to have no interest in anything sweet at all. The way you do it here is mix a teaspoon full of boric acid with I can of tuna in water. Spread it out thinly on three paper plates and set them out in your yard. The Yellowjackets just go crazy for this mixture.

Well done, mate! I try to eliminate Paper Wasps and Red Wasps around the ranch house, and will use your ploy; however, out at the barn and in hay storeage sheds the wasps are beneficial to eat/rid the area of spiders [not fun walking into a spider web]. I generally tolerate wasps in those areas for that reason. We don't have much of a problem where the nests are away from places we regularly occupy. Much obliged. 🤠

I used your “catch and release” method, as well as the traditional wasp traps, and for the first time In many years, I’m harvesting a lot of figs. In recent years, my fig trees have been inundated with European hornets, and bald faced/yellow jackets. The birds and the squirrels, have been taking some, but they scram when I’m near the trees.

How are the wasps destroying your figs? I don't know about the specific species you mentioned but, in general, wasps and bees and such are pollinators and you WANT them on your property if you're doing gardening, fruit trees, etc. Even if you simply want to help the environment - with the decimation of bee colonies going on and the loss of habitat in general, planting native pollinator flora and encouraging the bees & wasps to have at it is a GREAT thing. People don't realize there is a different wasp species dedicated to controlling every pest you can think of. And some of them are so docile (when away from their nests) you can hand feed them. We leave their nests alone, unless they build too close to the doors or a path where someone might get hit. And even then, if the hose will reach, I just knock down the nest and they leave (without killing them). We only kill (using EcoSmart, STEM, and other organic brands) when they're in a place I can't knock down with the water hose.

100% Boric Acid- marketed under a label called zap-a-roach, comes in plastic containers weighing 1 lb, ie, 454gms. I bought a few bottles when I retired and moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains three years ago. I have barely dented the first bottle. It works great. Just as well as more expensive brands that yield the same exact boric acid. Put some in a used up jelly jar with a little bit of jelly left in it, add some fruit juice if you want to, fill remainder of the bottle with water. Shakewell until completely dissolved. Pour a little bit on ant hills. Works great to attract and control ant populations of all kinds.

I did hear somewhere that no wasp will build a nest within 20 feet of another nest, but i've had them nesting under my house, the nearest was only four feet away. But i did find that when you first see them being interested in a site or being busy building a nest , if you spray the area with a mix of 50/50 of citronella oil and peppermint oil by ratio, with a squirt of dish soap ( as the wetting agent ) diluted with about a pint of water and used as a spray, they hate it and soon went elsewhere. I'll definitely try the boric acid/fruit juice mix trick. Its cheap enough and can save a lot of aggrovation later.👍👏👌🏽

I have a wasps nest under my "concrete porch." They get in at the very bottom. Not sure how to kill the nest, because the porch is 3 feet high by 5 ft wide. If you try using water, it won't work if their nesting up high under the porch. I did take out a nest very fast with that spray stuff from Home Depot. It sprays about 15 ft and covers the whole nest in foam. In this case the nest was outside and I could see it. Right now, because this nest is under the porch, I think I need a poison powder, that will stick to their legs, and they will drag it into the nest. I hope that will work. I was hoping to use spray foam, but you have to hit the nest.( can't see it) I see one comment here that Sevin Dust from Home Depot works, or Delta, and other people use Borax, or Boric Acid, just like here. Good video.

I have seen many commercial buildings like strip malls and minimarkets where wasp nests litter the place with just a few feet between them. "Propaganda paper". I love it! Or how about "snooze paper", to keep the sheep asleep? Good tips on controlling the wasps. We have ball faced hornets and yellow jackets dominating our yard and raiding our hummingbird feeders.

Good info👍 and loved the propaganda paper, So true!! Here in Texas the mud daubers are everywhere, plus multiple other species of wasps, hornets and others. So, any kind of fruit juice will work to get rid of all these? How about cola, 7up etc...?

I miss newspapers, their good for wrapping glassware, cleaning windows, the great 40% and 50% coupons of JoAnns Fabric and Michaels Arts store. Do you know I am 66 years old and I have NEVER read a newspaper from cover to cover, ever.

White, plain, tissue paper works as well as propaganda paper. It's cheaper. It has multiple uses. Best of all there are no lies printed on it. I don't read propaganda paper. I'm just turned 72. I have never subscribed to any newspaper... Because of the propaganda and solicitation of things that used to be illegal.

i noticed my wasp mixture made this foam w/ the applejuice at the top of the liquid after a few days. i used a clear container because that is all i had. am i not doing something right? i got a bunch of these mofos still swarming around constantly in the yard under the deck. the hive is under the deck inside behind the siding and i can't get to it. all advice is helpful.

I try to put the cans where they won't fill up with rain water. The decoy wasp nests will last for years even if they get wet. Mine have been up for a couple of years and are still hanging where I put them originally.

I believe it will work for all flying insects as long as you can get them to eat it.
