Heads up, c2b and c2f are switched in this video. When you knit in the back loop with this technique you are making a c2f, and using the front loop makes a c2b. I had to go back and fix it after swapping them in a pattern so I wanted to say something, haha! Otherwise this is an awesome technique, thank you for making the video!

These are also known as Right Cross Stitch and Left Cross Stitch. Very very slick and easy. I am knitting a triangular shawl using these as the spine. It's turning out nicely....and fun!

Omg! Thank you for this video. I've been calling this the hard way lol by taking the crossed stitch off the needle. This is awesome and a godsend for me. Having to use this technique in a Mitt I'm knitting now. Sharing this video with my knitting group!

Doesn't the 2 in C2f mean you are bringing 2 stitches over and 2 under, not just one as shown in the video??

that pattern you are knitting is so pretty. Is that all you do to get that pattern is doing the c2f and c2b? What stitch are you doing in between them? Love it and thank you for the tutorial.

For this sample, the pattern is called spine stitch. It is a done by using c2f and c2b for row 1 and row 2 is purl all sts. Please visit purlavenue.com for more info and free patterns.

Hi there. Your instruction has the C2F and C2B backwards. I appreciate the time you took but I really think you should take this video down because it's giving the wrong information.

Awesome! I was just watching another video in which the lady gets the stitch in the wrong direction, takes the needle out inserts it again... no thanks... I rather use a cable needle than risk dropping stitches. This is exactly what I needed to see.

just to double check c2f is left leaning and c2b is right leaning? from the video it looks the opposite
@JimiKnits
8 жыл бұрын
+Yvonne Sun You are correct, the demonstrator appears to have them confused. C2F - (FRONT) always refers to whatever happens to the first stitch on the left hand needle (as this would be the stitch that would normally be put on a cable needle). In this case stitch #1 should be in Front and will therefore be leaning to the Left when it crosses in front of stitch #2. C2B - (BACK) again always refers to the movement of the first stitch on the left hand needle. In this case stitch #1 should be at Back and therefore stitch #2 will be leaning to the Right as it crosses in front of stitch #1.

I feel sorry for all the people who will watch this and forever get their C2Fs and C2Bs wrong because they are mislabeled in this video!! I try to remember: "left" has the letter "F" in it, like "front".

Don't feel sorry for me. I got just the information I needed out of this video. I'm a smart enough knitter to figure out the rest-if indeed the names and stitch mounts are wrong. I have always seen knitters as an especially kind and helpful community, so it surprised me to see these unnecessarily catty comments from PeachyPanda and Carol Miranda.

As a knitting instructor, I am proud of the fact that I am VERY careful to teach my students the proper knitting techniques and vocabulary to ensure uniformity in their knitting. I also pride myself on helping ALL knitters be the best they can be. I believe your reference to "catty comments" is unnecessary and most definitely unkind.

carol miranda You have a point; catty was a kind of mean word to use and I’m sorry. But do you honestly think your comment wasn’t unkind? What I meant to communicate was that I think you could have taken a much more constructive approach. For instance, you could have commented “I believe this is wrong and here's why....” instead of “I feel sorry for anyone who sees this.” Wouldn’t you rather be corrected in that way if you were the one who was mistaken?
