I learned a really easy way to remove the bottom portion of waste yarn. Make your 5 (or however many rows) of waste yarn. Then make only 1 row of stitches with a second waste yarn. Then switch to your main color. After seaming your ends together, pull the one row waste yarn out starting at the same end you begin seaming from, opposite the tail ends. Once you pull that row out, the other color of waste yarn will come right off and can be unraveled the same was as the top easier end of waste yarn. This tip helped me so much and I hope it helps you too

Wow two years ago I saw gloves like this that were selling for 25€ in a Christmas market, I really loved them because I could use my phone and not freeze my hands because I always needed to use maps. Now ffd 2 years later, I started knitting and I can make so many of these myself now so cool, love the tutorial. ❤

Hello, if you do 1 row of scrap yarn and then add additional rows of scrap yarn but not tied to the first row you can just pull that 1 row and it’ll detach it faster :)

Yes, I am very new to this but watched a tutorial by a British maker named "Snufflebean" who demonstrates this method. When she pulls that one single unattached row out, it frees the stitches and they just unravel like the "easy" end.

@@DianaLevineKnits LOL about the quick on the 48, I've been working on a k-size blankets for weeks, each tube 315 rows, talk about getting tiring, lol. So I always take a break by doing smaller projects in between. I did two of them but I really decorated my first pair, and the next one I just have to close off. I regret embellising them with my odd design, so much time consuming.....but I HAD to have some black on my red. LOL

After adding your scrap yarn, make one row of nylon thread (you can use any separate piece of scrap yarn for one row but the nylon is slippery and pulls out easy) then use your main yarn.

I do not cast on the usual way with the scrap yarn. If you just let the yarn catch on all the needles as it happens on the finishing side it unravels much easier.

After you do the cast on & 5 rows of waste yarn do 1 row with a ravel cord or dental floss or very strong cotton then start the main yarn. Once you take the knitting off the machine pull the ravel cord out & the waste yarn falls off.

Edit: I found the fix. Its the cast on method. This prevents the bottom half from being stretchy. I tried the pattern but the bottom does not stretch any more. Is there a fix for this? Is there a different way to bind off the stiches to keep them stretchy? I knowest the top half is still stretchy....

I do a about 7 rows of scrap yarn (white) Then I take a different colour of scrap yarn (green) and do 1 row. Then I do my project. I finish with the 1 row of odd colour scrap wool (green) and then 6 or 7 rows of scrap wool (white). When I’m finished stitching up my ends, I find the middle of the single line (46pin would be stitch 23) and gently pull it out. The rest of the scrap yarn pulls right off. I saw this on KZitem. Snufflebean making an infinity scarf.
