So glad I found your channel. After 20 years of clenching and finally being told last year that my teeth are showing damage, I took my dentist's recommendation and saw a physical therapist and had a professional night guard made. I had been to 3 other doctors, you are so right about that. My TMJD issue is muscular and poor posture and my bite is off. My PT does manual manipulation and I do stretches and exercises with a band to strengthen my neck and upper back postural muscles. BUT, it was your videos that taught me how to massage the masseter. What a difference that makes. Thank you! I've been watching all your videos.

my son 26m Has had constant nonstop unrelenting bilateral temple pressure, light sensitivity ,neck pain for 2 years straight now. and as of recently severe bilateral jaw pain. we have gone to every dr under the sun. the dentist told him a week ago that he has tmj. my question Pryia is if TMJ can cause these symptoms such as the constant temporalis dull pressure neck pain and light sensitivity ? thank you, we appreciate your knowledge on the subject

Your videos are very informative what is a difference between CBCT scan as compared to just a CT scan? I've been to a dentist for TMJD to see if he can help me diagnose it but so far nothing other than just talking about my symptoms and he poked around my teeth. I don't have clicking, or popping and my teeth when touching them are not in pain. But noticed through the day I have a soreness under my jaw, eyebrow sensation (not pain but just maybe tiredness) on opposite side of face, and what feels like ear pain on the same side of jaw pain. I also had a neck pain on opposite side of jaw pain which I got treated by injections. My teeth also are not in pain but seem sensitive on the same side of jaw pain. My question is I have been to ENT and dentist, and I think I am lost of is it the ear causing the pain and referred pain or is it the jaw causing the pain and the ear is referred pain. Any ideas?

Hello Dr. Mistry, in my case my jaw pops when I close it and not open it. So is this the same thing because everything that I have seen about this is when a jaw drops when you open it instead of closing it

Hi Dr. Mistry, About a month ago I started experiencing TMJD symptoms on the right side of my head only (headaches, jaw pain, blurred vision) about 2 weeks in to the symptoms my vision started to worsen to the point where I can no longer move my right eye outwards and I feel pressure behind it. My oculist says it’s nerve palsy, and he doesn’t really know what caused it, so he’s trying to refer me to a neuro-ophthalmologist. Also as an FYI, I am in the process of obtaining my orthotic mouth guard. I have seen a lot of your videos and noted your patients have had trouble with their vision. My question is, have you ever had a patient with TMJD, where it affects their eye(s) to this extent? If so, were they able to resolve it? I used glasses beforehand, but never had this kind of trouble.

I went to a ENT about my Jaw Pain (which I am guessing is TMD) and the first thing they wanted to do was a CT scan with contrast. Does this seem like overkill? Dentists usually just use X-rays don't they? My thought is that they have their own machine and need to keep that thing running...and they do. My CT is scheduled out to April 5th. I don't have any of the typical clicking and actually since I made my appointment... ironically...the pain and problems seem to be subsiding. Opinions on the CT Scan?

Hi there! I take a CBCT on every patient of mine. This allows me to check for arthritic changes/bony degeneration in the jaw joints. I also study the air passages of the head and neck, the cervical spine, and more as all of these can have an effect on TMJD. Please watch this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/y2ivz6ynbnOYh4I
