s someone who has always dreamed of getting out on superior and fishing but finds it intimidating with all the different trolling methods etc, I really appreciated this video, thanks! Still a lot to learn but this helped.

Great video! Love anything on Lake Superior! My boys and I caught our biggest brown trout ever (33.5”) trolling in my 16’ Lund this summer.

What line for leader with leadcore? What line for backing for leadcore? What knot for leadcore to leader and backing? Do I have to remove the lead core before tying knots with it? Does leadcore get directly attached to planer board or do you have to get into backing and attach that to the board? If using braid for backing how so you keep that from slipping on the planer board clips? I really thought this was going to be the video I was looking for but to much basics left unanswered.

Fair enough! There is a lot more detail to go into on each method which I hope to get to at some point. I actually just finished up filming an in-depth video on Dipsey divers for Virtual Angling so if you want to see that one go check the VA app out.

It’s a 19’ Lund Pro V. Can’t remember the width exactly. I want to say 88”?

Probably my favorite video so far! Keep it up man! Question on the lead core: can you hook it to the board at the number of colors you want out? Or do you have to decide on number of colors, rig accordingly and hook the board to the backer line?
@calebwistad

Thanks! With the lead core you don’t want to clip the lead core into the planet board. It will wear out the lead and break it. You definitely want to plan ahead for how much lead you have out and put it all out behind the board.

@@calebwistad thanks! That's what I was thinking but wanted to be sure. And when you mention steering with the trolling motor; do you have it running or are you just using it as sort of a front-mount rudder?

@@keithwalker7151have it running. Just turn speed up until boat steers well as the kicker motor is pushing you ahead.
