Also, what about painting BEFORE laminating? I have not laminated anything yet but am going to on my wing build

I have done this before, and it does work, but you lose boldness of colours

Do you have the measurements or plans to the size and shape of wing? I'm having trouble trying to find measurements for a wing.

The foil is a PW51 and span is 1200mm. I can get you the root and tip chord and sweep angle

Alex, what are the materials used in the video? in particular the adhesive & filler for the spars & also the thermal laminating film including thickness. Nice result.
@AJHewson1

So this was just a covering video, but the spars were 3mm fiberglass rods, glued in the brown Gorilla Glue. The filler is some 3m Scotch 3542BA which is time-ex aerospace product. I mentioned in the video that the laminate was A2 laminating pockets of 80mic thickness.

What are the benefits of it over the packing tape which has always seemed like a lighter options on my thermal wings but never gave it any REAL strength... but it weights next to nothing. That foam sounds pretty dense too though. Given the wind speeds in Chch area I understand how you wouldnt worry about weight though lol
@AJHewson1

The benefits are that it’s one piece, rather than lots of overlapping pieces which helps in torsional rigidity a huge amount. You can get it in varying thicknesses depending on the desired strength and weight required. The foam is about 25kg/m2 density.

@@AJHewson1 omg... what you doing at commie state bro? I have small pieces of land in a few states.. at the moment Im in Cz... will come to the u.s in July again. California has some amazing flying spots... that is some weight huh? I built a hollow one that weights amazing 240grs... but I added ballast slot to it ... I can add up to 500 grs and it still flies amazing.
