When I used to drag race my Evo, I used to do a fast dump at 5500-6000 rpms. Tires would screech off the line, and 60ft times were in the 1.6x range. This was the best way. If the tires grabbed, the engine would bog, and the time would be ruined (it also would hurt the transmission). A little spin was the key for me. Had the car for 120k miles. Never any transmission problem. Clutch was an exedy twin disc, thoug

2-3k launch champ, 5-6k too much, your not ken block. Easy out with clutch for 1st, then pump 2, 3 and 4

@@JotaJotaSTI yes 4 to 4.5 is mid lauch.. 3k is mild launch Above 5k is aggressive (better to use with lauch control)

Yeah maybe in an american v8.. youre not launching a turbo 2017 sti at 3k.. Best way to launch STI is slip the clutch right after you build your revs so you still have boost built as you launch, then FFS to keep constant boost

It’s sport sharp noob! 5500 slip until you feel movement then release the rest of the clutch quickly.

If u hold the revs at 5500 n slip the clutch, will not help very much, because no turbo spooling n boost build up.. so better always, to keep the revs 3.5k, bring to 5.5k while slipping the clutch. Or use lauch control. Because it holds the revs at 5.5k (or any desired value), while delays the timing, functions as anti lag system , this ensures turbo is spooling... boost remains built up. Slip the clutch, once grabs , dump the clutch Flat foot shift to 2nd , 3rd etc.. That way a mechanically stock sti with tune makes 0 to 60 around 4.5 sec , with launch control n fat foot shifting (cobb or ecutek tune)
