I have an issue learning Georgian because I need to associate with people and that’s difficult. I agree with you songs and short films can help. I learned around 30 words😀but I won’t give up 😀

Amazing! Thank you for answering my questions in such a beautiful fashion (literally and figuratively). You certainly gave some tips on how to approach the language learning process. I wish I had an opportunity to study with a teacher but my unpredictable working schedule makes it almost impossible to set particular time for lessons. So all that remains is to study textbooks, drill the flash cads (overcoming frustration and anger, as you have mentioned), listen to the radio and try to talk. You are richt about music and radio. Even if I don't pay attention to it, some words and phrases settle down in my brain. I have noticed that commercial spots that I hear over and over again already sound more clear than the stuff I hear for the first time, like news. As for speaking with locals, they would first compliment you on knowing some Georgian but then switch to my language. Sometimes it turns into strange dialogues when both parties speak one another's language. And I couldn't agree more about teachers' emotions when they see that students are dedicated and motivated. I remember my German teacher's face back in the day, when I came to the lessons prepared. It gave us both a tonn of motivaton to proceed. Once again, thanks for the video. ყოჩაღ.

Thanks for your feedback, I understand your situation and I hope still you will manage it. You seem motivated and I am happy for this, it is true that we, teachers, are super excited when we see that a student is trying. If you want people to speak Georgian with you, maybe you can ask, I know how it is like, in France if I was trying to speak French in a caffe or somewhere, they were speaking English (so I do not agree with a stereotype about French people), they think they help you but no...🙏💓💓💓 good luck to you, hope my channel helps you!

First of all, thank you for posting this video. Learning the Alphabet Is a Good Approach. The benefit is an ability to read words, even if we don't know what the word means or have grammatical knowledge of sentence structure. We can look at labels and kind of get an idea naturally. Often I can't progress any further than the most important words because I don't know the alphabet. This really applies for Georgian, Armenian, and Russian. You are welcome, I think if you do not know the alphabet, it does not make a sense. People ask me to write a transcription sometimes but I think that first of all, everyone has to know how to read . Good luck to you!

გამარჯობა და მადლობა ანა! სასიამოვნოა შენი გაცნობა! :) Your video includes most of the points we need to consider and use to learn new languages. I loved that you included the part about understanding a country's culture to grasp the language. I couldn't agree more and that is what makes learning languages - even if you just dive in for fundamental phrases - so much fun and enriches your life. I think what mostly hinders us as adults (in addition to our brains getting less flexible) is that we are not patient anymore. We need instant gratification more than ever and if we don't get it, we get frustrated. If we push through that frustration though, we will find ourselves enjoying connecting to new people and if anybody is worth connecting to, it is Georgians. I can't begin to tell you how many friendly encounters I've had with the little Georgian I know after ~2 months of self-study. Also, we are scared to speak - as you mentioned. Can't put enough emphasis on how important it is to get beyond that barrier of fear and just speak. Otherwise, there will be no progress. Learning Georgian (or a new alphabet): Yes, it hurts! The first evening, I started writing Georgian letters by hand, my brain felt like it had so many knots after a few minutes. After 4 weeks of regular practice, it's much easier and I can already read words. Do you have any recommendations for children's movies or KZitem accounts in Georgian to listen to?
