If you do the leveling in the volume of each sound in the channel rack before the fader it will be better. Great video , keep it that way bro ✌🏻

I hear alot of people say that. What is the reasoning behind it?
@nuh-uhbro765

@@ErrorTheProducerThe only actual difference between the volume knobs and the sliders in the mixer, is that the knobs effect the volume before the effects are applied, and the mixer sliders affect the volume with effects. It theoretically wouldn’t make any difference at all unless one of your effects sounded substantially different depending on the gain, like a distortion plugin. I think it’s a myth busted.

In the colour picker there is a padlock icon in the top right corner. It opens up more colours. I just made a video on how to make my template I cover it all in that video too bro 🙌🙌

Do you ever mix in mono? I've heard you should always do that, I'm just saying.
@ErrorTheProducer
3 ай бұрын
Myself, no. I think the idea of Mixing in mono is that everything comes right down the middle, and that makes it easier to get balance in your mix. Panning and stereo separation can make sounds seem louder or quiter, but with enough experience you will get the hang of compensating that with gain boosting/reduction. Hope this helps 🙏

Hey bro great video helped me out and i have a question: Do you keep all the sounds at default volume before the levelling with channel sliders? or do you put them where they sound good and then begin the process how you did in the video?
@ErrorTheProducer
Жыл бұрын
Thanks bro! And to be honest it depends. If there are sounds that stick out drastically then I would turn them down from the channel rack then tighten up the levels later in the mixer. I would suggest pre leveling in the channel rack then doing your final mix level in the mixer. Hope this helps 🙌

one dumb question: when we don't kick the beat, do we set the 808 to -6 db?
@ErrorTheProducer
Жыл бұрын
Hey bro, Yeah I would. If you set your loudest instrument to around -6 then you should be good to go. I would try and use your ear as much as possible rather than numbers but -6 is a good place to start

are you leveling with any effects on the master channel?
@ErrorTheProducer
Жыл бұрын
No. I leave my master channel totally blank. I do however route everything to a "pre master" track and use that to add a soft clipper.
