I learned from this video the method of installing the gasket clamp using strong pliers and flathead screwdriver. I used a Vice Grip to hold firmly to the spring loop end. Pulling the spring and pressing the screwdriver did the trick! I had already disassembled and reassembled my washer for the first time. The other video had the color wires on the recirculation pump reversed from my model. Your video has the color of wires on the recirculation pump matching my Kenmore washer. I learned from yet another video how to put my washer into Test Mode. I tested all the functionality of it and found that the recirculation pump did indeed work correctly. My problem in the first place was a failure to drain. In disassembling the washer, I confirmed that the drain pump was in good order. I'm still trying to solve my drain problem, but I am learning a lot of details about this machine.

the recirculation pump motor is white, 2002H. the drain pump is black, 2001T, on model WM2688HWM. i wish they'd mention this on the vids.

It's prabably a good idea to replace the drain pump at the same time. As they are known to fail.

I was able to remove the inspection plate on the back of my LG washing machine and remove/install the drain pump from the back. It was quicker & much easier this way. You will still need to remove the filter cover housing so the drain pump will come out.

I tipped it back and replaced it from the bottom. No hoses to disconnect either.

@@drakedorosh9332 You blew their cover lol. That is how they make the money more labor more time more money. Yes from the bottom is the best and easiest method but the so called pros will go the long rout for the extra dollars.

Nice job, thanks for the vid. You saved me as I bought a used unit and several ports were clogged. I was able to disassemble, clean, and reassemble.

@@nicoletteworobetz1973 Great, good luck and let us know how it comes out. I think a lot of manufacturers are copying the tech, and mine is still running great. I would have to say I do most line drying with the last bit on low heat which may be 'babying' the unit but that is how I do it.

I got to the drain pump but can't find the circulation pump, do you know where that's located? I get the impression these machines were made to be fixed by the common person with a little know how

@@nicoletteworobetz1973 Its been a few years - but I remember them all being on the left side under the drum. I had to take off the top and front cover to get there, but it was all pretty simple to disassemble / assemble. There is probably a YT vid on how to get to that point with your machine, or maybe look at a parts diagram.

What about wiring the right pump? L - black , N - blue?

When in doubt, install them the same way that they came off.

@@freemandiaz5123 Unless they came off while moving the pump around before you could get to them. Difficult to see where they came from when they aren't on anything. Unless there is some magic that lets them conduct electricity 8 inches from their connectors at such low volts/amps.

THE DRAIN PUMP AND THE RECIRCULATION PUMP ARE THE SAME TYPE/MODEL?THANKS
I had a loud buzzing noise and changed the drain pump with no avail. looks like it's the circulation pump thats the problem. Can anyone confirm the loud buzzing noise with a bad circulation pump?
