Absolutely agree with everything you said. I was walking through the mall one day and stopped at a small electronic kiosk. The lady working was a sweet middle aged but very homely looking. She asked if I was single and what was I doing later that day. Not to be rude, I just said I had plans to meet up with friends. She sighed and was a little disappointed. She said, “Sorry to hear that. I was hoping I could introduce you to my daughter.” The lady said something in Bisaya to someone sitting on the floor behind the counter that I didn’t know was there. A mid-20 very beautiful girl stood up and introductions made. I pretended to make a call and canceled my plans with my friends.

Hello Filipina Pea. As a man who has visited the Philippines several times and had some dating experience there, I felt you gave a useful and accurate picture of the dating scene there, and very practical advice. There are indeed a lot of "foreigner specialists". They will approach you in a mall. On the dating apps, there are the one who "scan for new arrivals" and will jump on you as soon as you get out of the airport. Also online, you need also to develop a keen eye to spot the transgenders. Most of them are obvious, or will mention it on their dating profiles... But a few don't, and are very difficult to spot, leaving you with this awful doubt in the back of your mind. I would avoid dating apps in Manila which are now literally overtaken by the sex workers. Cebu and Davao are better for this point of view. I really like your suggestions on how to meet pretty girls in real life. One of the most beautiful women I've ever been with, was working in a call center in Cebu. Keep up the good work!

I met my wife outside a convenience store at 0700 on a Sunday morning in HK. I had been due to go to the Philippines for a break, but my flight had been cancelled. I asked her if she could watch my bags while I went to get a bar. On a whim I invited her and her two friends out for dinner - if I can't be in the Philippines, at least I can spend some time with Filipinas and listening to Taglog being spoken. Seven years later we are married with a family and living in the Philippines. Strange how missing a flight can change your entire life.

For me I’m a city boy so I like the bigger busier cities that are not Manila. My best friend is a country boy and loved being far from the city. I like a more independent city girl and he liked a more country type woman from the provinces. For me I liked Cebu city, it’s 3 small cities close to each other to make a big city. Cagayan de pro is smaller more laid back city that’s cool. If ur looking for night life city fun then Angels city is kinda like Vegas. I tend not to wear a wedding ring so there's no obvious sign that says I'm married. It's always funny when we are out and about in the Philippines to see the difference between when my wife is with me and when she's not, and the reactions I get from other women. The stares are quite a bit more intense and the interactions seem a little more hyper when she is away from me and I am apparently by myself. What's really funny to see is when I'm interacting with a store clerk who thinks I'm single, and then this Filipina Lola with gray hair comes over and puts her arm through mine. The dynamics change rather quickly. 😍😍😍

I've come to find it's best to just be nice and see who is receptive to date. Not all Filipinas are looking for a foreign guy so don't be presumptuous. Listen to what they are saying and they will tell you what they are all about. Don't be rude because they may have a friend who is serious and not just a gold digger. Appearance is everything so don't look like like your unobtainable and overdressed for the venue. Just be Normal and chat if spoken to. Most girls who are working in the malls with food have to have medical check ups as well as criminal background checks. Just keep your options open.

Times have changed Miss Pea. It used to be so easy to meet girls in the Philippines without being scammed. My advice now is to be super friendly and watch out for the scammers. My problem now that I am married is how not to meet girls in Philippines. My suggestion is maybe go to a coffee shop and look around. There will always be a young girl or two in there with a iPad or phone or maybe a book. Just have the waitress take her whatever she is drinking. Coffee or tea or whatever. Smile at her but don’t get too forward and just see what happens. As you are walking around smile a lot. Use the word po or kumusta or salamat often and just that little bit of Tagalog opens doors. Great video I’m just glad I’m not looking anymore.

Another great video. I think we learned a lot about Filipinas from your videos where you interviewed them. I met my wife while I was in the Philippines. I met her at her job. I thought she was pretty and I started to talk to her. From there, everything fell into place. I always tell people the best way to meet a Filipina is to be in the Philippines. It helps you learn about her and her life, and helps you know who she is and what you can and can't expect from her. I always knew my wife was a hard worker (I met her at her job). Now, after being in the USA for 3 years, she is in management at her company after starting in the lowest position. She is a province girl and her family didn't have the money to send her to college, so she doesn't have a college education. Plus she couldn't go to school since she had to support her family. She's very smart. She's a very hard worker. She's moving up and will continue to move up in her company... because of her qualities. Even though she wasn't sure about herself in the USA, and wanted to stay in the Philippines, she came with me to the USA and has really grown and become an amazing woman... with the great qualities of a Filipina still intact. She is Westernized but, at the same time, STILL Filipina. I still think I'm very lucky to have met her. She's an exceptional woman. But after watching Pea's videos for a long time, I wonder if I'm not as lucky as I once thought. I'm still lucky, but I think there are so many amazing Filipinas. That are NOT on any dating sites. The ONLY way to meet them is to be in the Philippines. Go there. Even if you don't find a great Filipina, you'll REALLY enjoy the country, the people, the food... it'll be a great time.

Your advice or best path forward is probably what I experienced recently here in the US. I was at an Ikea store and helped an African lady twice. After helping her get a cart, then loading it, she held her hand out with something it. I politely declined and she quickly said, no it's not money, and shook her hand a little. Great, I thought, she's handing me a gift card she doesn't want. Not wanting to be rude I took and then pretty sure I had a quizzical look on my face, she said, it's my card. I saw she did hair braiding, thanked her, put in my wallet, and walked away. A few days later I asked a female friend if she thought the lady was being flirtatious and hoping I'd call her. She figured it was since I don't need my hair braided. So sounds like it's a thing around the world except here in the US, although girls are known to write their numbers down on cocktail napkins after an evening of dancing and chatting.

One small consideration on which locations you choose, is whether the native language is Tagalog or Bisaya (Cebuano). Many call centers try to recruit Bisaya speakers, since their accent is less harsh to English and American ears, than the Tagalog speakers that are common to Manila. Bisaya is the "Language of the Middle Islands", so it is common to Negros, Cebu, Leyte, and much of Northern Mindanao. Pea is from Leyte, and lives in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental, two Bisaya speaking areas. My former GF was from Dipolog. Zamboanga del Norte. As an American, I just found the Bisaya accent much easier to listen to, and having a Filipina partner means you will be speaking with her every day. That's why I think Cebu might be a preferable large city, or Dumaguete, a good small city/college town, for your search.

Hopefully I can start dialogue with her she speaks English very well, if I could stop , drop and head to the Philippines now I would, but I am on a 5 yr plan to get there and honestly she may find someone before that. Great tips! Giving a girl your number and letting her know you'll answer her texts combines the best feature of online dating, (being able to size up a potential date without getting too close), with proving that you are a real person available locally, (not some creep on the other side of the planet hiding behind a ten year old picture).

We have scammer girls trying to get men to buy them things in the West also, I see through them in seconds. I don't like pick up lines, or jumping into a relationship. I generally pursue friendship 1st, no need for romance, but if the chemistry is there, then it could evolve into more. I like to let things happen naturally. Online I have many Pinay friends, some for 10 years, just good friends, and none of them ever asked, or hinted for me to send money. Pinay's don't only make great wives, they can be very special loving friends.

My #1 tip...Do not show off your wealth. Filipinas say "be humble". In the west men are trained to lead with their wealth. The first thing western women want to know is a man's wealth. Most men think that's because they want your money which is true, but more importantly it's a measure of status. Status is what women look for all over the world according to studies like Dr Buss's 37 cultures relationships study. It's hard for western men to stop what they've been trained to do. You need new game. The reason why is because you're a westerner you automatically get a higher status for most Filipinas. If you then push your wealth your sexual market value goes up even more. People all over the world like partners with equal sexual value. Most Filipinas are insecure about their appearance and women know their sexual value is based on appearance. The more you push up your value the more insecure they get, the less comfortable they will be around you. This causes problems like jealousy becoming even worst. And it's going to cause you many problems later on if you've exaggerated your wealth. If you use wealth to attract a woman she will likely want some of that wealth later. Hey, you're the one who pushed it. Way better imo to not discuss your assets at all....ever. In my last marriage to an American woman I didn't tell her many things about my assets over 18 years of marriage. And I'm so glad I didn't. It gave me the freedom to do as I pleased with my assets and was a big help in the divorce. I plan to continue that rule if I ever move to SE Asia.

Hello, my wife and I have just had our second wedding anniversary. I found your information to be accurate and I did meet her online. You can do it, you can find a good person online if you set standards and stick to them. My wife is a province girl who was in Cebu and when I visited Cebu (3x) you are 100% correct, there was a lot of "foreigner specialists" that I called "sharks" but I knew about them and would keep them at bay and I never engaged with them. I never stepped a foot into a bar, dance place, or anything like this. From being in big cities in the USA I have a good awareness of my surroundings and could see sharks coming, to avoid sharks we just would alter course. I would suggest that you also mention once you find a good person be careful of their "friends" and I would make sure (I still do to this day) tell my wife if anyone wants to be a friend or sends me a message. It is best to just delete these requests and only communicate with immediate family.

For many in the poorer areas, especially the provinces, the main staples are rice and dried fish. There just is not enough money to get decent food. So I believe most "common" filipino dishes are based on the cheapest longest lasting ingredients, especially the dried fishes. I tried some dried fish at a high end restaurant, it was god awful.

What I saw just chatting on dating sites was Filipinas seemed suspicious. They're getting scammed as much as men are. But once I acted normal and explained my plans they flip pretty quickly and really do seem to fall in love very fast...too fast for me so I'm off the sites. The women I was looking for and chatting with were in their 40's, professional, property owners which might explain them being suspicious at first. It's so interesting to hear about the stares and attention that older foreigners get in the Philippines. I'm a young expat currently in Thailand. For the most part, the only attention I get in public here is from people selling stuff to foreigners (massage parlors, bar girls, freelancers, taxi drivers, etc), especially in the tourist areas like Pattaya and Patong. Walking around the streets of Chiang Mai or Bangkok, there's no special attention really at all. I'm curious if that will be different when I get to PH, or if it's mostly something the older guys experience.

Or $20,000 deposit with no pension. If you are a military veteran it's only $1,500 deposit. There is a $1,400 application fee in all cases. You need a visa agent in the Philippines and it's still a lengthy process to apply. Once your application package is reviewed they give you what's called an "entry exception document" that allows you to enter the country. Then you get your SRRV visa later in Manila in person. Malls are a great place for a meetup location as the girl can usually get there easily by public transportation. While you are there you can change some money to pesos (malls usually have the best rate), pick up anything you realized you needed, get something to eat, and get a haircut (it's only like $2 even at the mall). It's amazing how many things can go wrong though when you're trying to meet. There's a good chance that by the time she gets there her phone battery will be dead or nearly dead and you won't be able to contact her to find out where she is. She will be a minimum of 30 minutes late, possibly up to 4 hours due to weather/traffic (if it's raining hard the jeepney's are full and it's impossible to get a taxi or uber). She will text you that she is next to some random shop you never heard of and don't know where it is, then you will find it and she is not there. Eventually you will figure out that there are two of that shop and she is at the other one.

I just watched Paul the old dog about a western guy who dated and married a Filipina online based on their mutual feelings (how do you trust an online feeling anyway? ) While on an ldr relationship the guy sent her 2 mllion pesos. They finally met in person. Long story short, relationship failed quickly. In person he found another one, failed again. And this story is not unique, happened before, and I personally think will keep on happening unless we're aware of the precautions and the red flags. It doesn't guarantee success if we follow the tips and learn from sad stories, but it will definitely help us. Even the tips from Filipina Pea though very helpful, is not agreeable sometimes. Finding an honest woman who'll be faithful to their partners has been easy for many but not for all but there's always hope and I'm so inclined to believe that sometimes LUCK is a real thing. Giving money to a Filipina girlfriend is a BIG NO NO more so if they're the ones asking. Also helping Filipina's family is noble but how would the boyfriend feel if the day comes when she lost her feelings after big sum of money was given?

Ate Pea! Great job making this video. It's a great resource for people to find the types of people they're looking for and its definitely helpful for those who plan to come to the Philippines. However, as much as I wish it was applicable to me, it really isn't. I'm Filipino-American, so my parents are from there but I myself have never been. It sounds fantastic that for some people going to the Philippines will make you appear interesting just because you "look different", or that you're a "foreigner" so that all of the assumptions (more money, less familial baggage, more educated) tend to get noticed. But I don't look like a foreigner. I'm not white, black or latin. I look just as Filipino as any of the girls I'll run into in my mother's homeland. Being born in the States, I'm very much just as American as the other Americans who come to the Philippines. Same Education, same independent values and ideology. But I'm afraid that I won't have the "novelty" to be attractive back "home". The intrigue that filipina girls get for foreigners usually goes for black and white guys because of how "different" they are and I'm just depressed because I feel like if I ever go to the Philippines I'll just get treated like a Kuya or an Ading. For the novelty aspect that Filipinas have for men of different cultures, is it worth even going there if I'm Filipino myself? Or would it take a page from the "Western" playbook and go to a European country like Croatia, Romania or Austria? I'm not even sure if that'll work because Europeans going to an Asian country is a "positive", but I've never head of any Asians going to Europe finding success in the reverse. I'm not sure if you'll even read this, but I'd love to hear your opinion on what a Filipino American can do and if we're even in the same "positive" group that other foreigners would be. Salamat po!

Hi John! Yes, I read every single comment, even if it’s on a video that two years old 😊 You’re right about the disadvantage of not having that ‘novelty’ appearance, but that’s just a small part of your appeal. Once you start talking to a Filipina, and she realizes you have all those other interesting characteristics, you will have mostly leveled the playing field with other foreigners. If you’ve never been here, I strongly suggest you pay a visit, and test out the chemistry 👍😊

Funny yout mentioned the countries in EU. I am austrian/croatian. Austria is becoming very much like america. As for croatia i do not really know because while my grandparents are from there, I havent lived there, only visited a couple times (my other family also left for the UK and Germany). I will live there for a student exchange next year tho, so if u still need amswers then I could give probably give you. If you say you look filipino I take it you are brown which would be a bonus in austria, because the country is except for the 2 biggest cities still pretty mono european, with our main visibly distinguishable foreigner group being middle easterners (especially since 2015). So as a brown man around here gets the bonus of being exotic. If you look asian aswell, youd have a pretty easy time getting laid with blue haird anime convention girls, but I do not think you would wanna do that xD. Otherwise I wouldnt say its much of a bonus nor is it a disadvantage. If you wanna come and have a look around feel free to message me. I live in the 2nd biggest city and I am happy to accomodate foreigners ✌️
