I just optimized my DH bike with a dropper post. Seriously though, I totally did.

I have been wanting to do that for a few years! Such a good idea for bike park season.

Yo! I'm gonna start wrenching at a shop over the summer and a new bike build is in my near future so this series came at the perfect time for me. Love learning from your experience, keep it up!

Sick video. Curious if you have any tips for someone making the switch to clip ins? I have a YT capra and even swapped the flip chip to the high setting hearing you did that in a previous video and loved it. Could be a sick video of tips to getting used to clip ins and the pros vs cons since I noticed your DH bike had flats (probably cause you are doing tricks) but the new bike looked to have clips! Especially with bike park season starting semi soon here in Southern California, I am struggling with if I should run my clip ins there or swap back to flats. Love the video dawg!

Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching! Clip video will be happening at some point, but for now: I run clips for everything besides Freeride. Downhill bike at the bike park and trail bike are always clipped in for me! For tips to get used to it, I’d say trail rides are the best as you need to clip out every so often which is good practice. Adjusting to them in the bike park could be risky. Hope this helps!

@@PeterJamison You're clipped in at the bike park? Is that common?
@PeterJamison

Yes I am! Not common I would say, but it keeps things fresh and fun for me, so much control over the bike!

I just spent a long time worrying why my chain kept skipping every now and again. Upgraded the drivetrain, which I planned on doing anyway, and still the chain kept skipping very very intermittently. Dialed in the B-screw which finally did the trick. 1/4 of a turn away from either side of that line showing on the inside of the derailleur and the skipping comes back. That took so long to find the problem and to feel like I finally have a good bike. Still don't get why there is such a narrow margin of error with the B-screw that I don't hear many other people talking about. I have a shimano slx drivetrain.

B tension is super important! Something that may help: to get the best performance, set your B tension at sag. That way when you are seated pedaling it will function in the best way possible. Hope this helps!

one thing ive been doing this past year is setting up my "enduro" bike and DH bike comepletey the same. Brand wise. Marzo suspension, one Z1 180mm Air fork, with the 160mm Bomber Air and the Bomber 58 Dually with the 160mm bomber air, title components but one is single speed and the other is 12spd. idk seems like i can Tinker LESS having 2 bikes nearly the same.
