OK, I’m seeing a lot of comments about her shower routine. As an aesthetician, I recommend that my clients wash their face twice a day. And even double cleanse in the evening. Now, this would be followed by serum‘s, treatment, and a good moisturizer. Excessive showering can lead to dry skin, but if you have a good routine and your moisturizing afterwards, preferably while you’re still wet, it really won’t be an issue. Make sure you’re exfoliating weekly as well. Showering is like meditation for some. I understand how this could end up being an essential part of her routine for her lifestyle.

Mrs. Musayeva, here is one video request: appropriate clothes for airport. It is necessary to be said and you are the right person to say it. I do not know why, but it it very normalized to face the whole world (and for me airports represent the doors of the world) wearing slippers and something that looks like gym wear, or even worse - a pajama. We need to be reminded how to carry ourselves into the world. Personal story: I have met my business client at airport in Vienna, while both of us were dining alone waiting for connecting flight. We started talking and soon we realized I can help him in his business. At the end, he thanked me and insisted to pay both dinners. I went home, he went to fair in Germany. Next week I got a request for quotation for our cooperation. Would that happen if I was wearing gym clothes? Hardly.

Growing up we had our school clothes, play clothes and our church clothes (fancy clothes wear). After school we came home we immediately changed into our play clothes so we can go and play. We would stay in those until we went to bed into our PJs. Our clothes would look nicer and last longer. I would like to incorporate that more at home wear. Especially like loungewear. I want to look decent enough where you can go out of the house but comfortable. I definitely couldn't shower four or five times a day though. I think my skin would be too sensitive to that but in the summer I have shower twice in the day because I was sweaty so much. Also comfort is important and have clothes tailored if needed.

How very accurate. After being the CEO TO a private school - so having to be impeccable in order to respect students, teachers and families - I'm retired now but still volunteering online or giving at home tuition, I set myself a rule : to look exactly the same as when I was the Head. And when no lessons are planned that day, I wear elegant lounge wear. To the delight of one's family, to start with,. You also never know who might just turn up, some people visit unexpectedly ( not a recommended move, though, but nobody's perfect !), or a neighbour brings you a parcel that wasn't for them, they'll never catch you unkempt and haggard in dubious pijamas.

Very well said! It's good to see that being retired doesn't mean you can't look as good as when you were the CEO, I think it's an act of self respect and says a lot about your character. And trust me, people do notice. About your second point, I couldn't agree more. If you look like a mess at home and you get some unexpected visits, it's better to be looking decently, instead of running around trying to change of clothes and look better, it takes more time and energy.
@nancywhite3501

@@extrastout1741 The secret is to do what works for you. For me, it is less stressful to be dressed than to be in pajamas (notice that Clementine said, "haggard in dubious pajamas."} I would have less problem opening the door in loose black pajama bottoms with a grey t-shirt, but I would probably put a raincoat over it. Even so, the raincoat is eccentric. So, I just get dressed; it's much less stressful. In the winter, I get dressed and put a comfortable robe over my clothes. If someone comes over unexpectantly, or if I have a Zoom meeting, I just remove the robe and put on a sweater or jacket.

Hi Drav. I worked with a lot of men. I handled each man differently. My general suggestion is to wear clothing that is not tight. I wore slacks which were fitted at the waist but not tight. I always a blouse that wasn't tight, sheer or lowcut .I always wore a jacket. I wore flats or low heels. Make up was minimal. I only wore pants because one man commented on my legs. You might not have that problem. I never flirted. Even so, all but one man flirted with me. I handled each man differently: to one, I only spoke about religion, another his wife, another his mother, another my husband, another work, and I didn't laugh at off-color jokes, etc. You can loosen up later once the men realize that you are not interested in them, but at first it is better to just be very professional.

I love this channel but I have to say this whole elegance theme is going insane/ridiculous and plain brainwashing. You dont need to shower more than once a day(unless you live in a few countries), you are NOT dirty if you dont, you are actually damaging your skin, and you are wasting so much water. Plus you keep spending and spending in beauty products. Which is the second part. You dont have to wear make up at all to be presentable and put together, please lets end this stupid and sexist trend. It you like it do it, but dont feel pressured. And when you are at home it becomes totally pointless. It is bad for your mental health also, I met women so insecure and that were even scared of people seeing their true face without make up because they thought they were ugly without it. Plus its not good for your skin to have make up on, specially the whole day for gods sake. And have you considered to amount of money you keep spending to do all of this? And the amount of time of your precious life you are wasting? Its pure consumism. Stop this madness

Everytime I watch a video about personal growth and see “take shower/bath in the morning” made me question why do something like this needs to be included… Then I realized that I born and lived in tropical country which automatically lived in a culture of “you have to take shower/bath at least twice a day; when you wakeup in the morning and when the sun is set/before bed” Parents in my country always taught their kids to do so. I was thinking maybe bcs we lived in a ‘hot’ country so we have to regularly make ourselves clean for health reasons. But I also noticed that a simple routines like that really helps me to more be organized (and it helps with my mood too!). Bcs if I compared to day when I skipped showering in the morning, it’s like I’m not doing my best for the entire day… Especially if I have unexpected guest….. Feeling so insecure bcs I’m still ‘dirty’ and not smelling good (eventho maybe they can’t smell my body odor unless they sit really close or when I hug to greet them) 😅

Loungewear can be leggings with a long sweater but I still would not wear it outside (to me it’s not “real” pants,p/too thin to wear in public). I wonder if other people do the same.

When it comes to video recommendations… I’m a bit clumsy and it kinda interferes with my environment. When I’m in a clothing store when walking between furniture, sometimes I unknowingly drop some clothing item on a hanger behind me or when in a restaurant I trip when getting up from a chair. It’s all really embarrassing when it happens. So I wanted to ask how to be or how to practice being more aware of your surroundings..? And when it actually happens, how to deal with it with dignity..?

Would still love a video on where to meet quality people (friendship and dating) if you haven't made it already! I don't want to use the term "high value" because the use of the word has been cheapened over the year but it would be a lovely topic nonetheless. I appreciated this video!

Probably at educational or cultural events. It may or may not be pricey, just academic in nature.

I am not sure what you mean by that. I think you can meet wonderful people in the most random places. The most important thing is to work on self-development and as a result attract such people into your life.

I’m starting a new work from home job and recently purchased a few “work from home” outfits. I purchased button down shirt and straight leg pants matching sets. I figured the button down shirt will help me not feel as if I’m not “dressed” Thank you for this video, I wasn’t even looking for anything like this and it just popped up in my recommendations

Hi Jamila, Thank you for this timely information. I recently started wearing casual business clothes while I telecommute and study from home. I had previously gotten into the bad habit of wearing my workout clothes while I worked - which is another way of saying that I was dressing like a slob because I was at home. I most definitely feel more professional and productive when I wear business casual. Also - thank you for mentioning the fresh flowers on the desk. This was another change that I made in conjunction with dressing better. The flowers in my home office make me smile each time I enter it.

May I make a suggestion? I can see your team in the reflection of the piano. It might be less distracting for us if your background was the double doors, or move the piano for filming, and put yourself in front of the plain wall. Otherwise, thank you for the lovely tips.

Personally, I think that to feel put together you don’t have to go through so many steps every day. I mean, if you have time, energy and want to, then, go ahead. But If its feels like something unachievable, I think its a wise thing to ask yourself following questions: 1. What are the very few things, that make me instantly look/feel put together? - myself personally, its would be applying my sunscreen, style my eyebrows, curl my eyelashes, and make sure I followed my simple, but effective hygiene routine, and that I am clean and smell pleasant. The key is find something effective but simple enough to do, so that on the busiest day, or when you are overwhelmed, its would not feel like this huge, 13 steps process. 2. What makes me feel grounded & in control, even if the day is going to be a hard one? The key, is to determine the KEY factor. For example, if my room is clean & free of piles of stuff, I feel more grounded. So, the system would be to clean once a week & than wipe surfaces and make my bed every day, to keep things neat until the next cleaning day. 3. Clothes. You don’t need to adorn yourself with fancy clothing at home, but choose something that is comfortable yet flattering aka makes you feel put together. For example, I have a few outfits that are comfy, practical, yet does not make me feel slouchy, like a pair of baggy pants does. And its not because baggy pants are in itself make a person look this way, but because it is something I, personally, feel slouchy and messy with. The KEY is find what makes YOU feel your best, find a comfy version of it, and avoid things that have an opposite effect. That being said, I dont think the advice in the video is bad, and I dont try to contradict it. I am simply aware, that for most people, the steps discussed in the video are unrealistic, and wanted to offer an alternative.❤

In some countries in southeast asia, some people and their children go to hotel buffets while wearing pajamas! Western people cannot understand this. However, these people believe it is acceptable because hotel staff are afraid to tell them pajamas are not appropriate garb.
