Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing this video. The information was really useful, especially the reminder to use -1 for continuous repetition. 👍

Storyline supports apng files. I use this for character animated walk cycles inside states. You can actually build mini isometric games in storyline this way. Not being able to preview animations can be a real pain for incremental testing.

I'd be curious to see that in action.

@@LearningDojo sure thing: kzitem.info/news/bejne/yXewyaaprWmgoI4si=4qlXBb9kLAnAuf6p Lots of tricks to make this work, eg, shifting objects in front and behind the actor to appear as if he's walking around them (doorways, furniture etc). Absolutely no JavaScript required. The circular shadow of the actor is a grouped object that "intersects" with hotspots / objects to trigger actions. Each state is an .apng walk cycle in each of the 8 directions (with a couple of resting states too). Actor moves by repeating a motion path as long as arrow in that direction is "hover". Slide variable determines which direction the actor should be facing when "entering" slides from relative direction. Saved slide state does the rest. Those are the basic mechanics of the UX - then anything can technically be built on top of it. :-)

With regards to the bump you're experiencing on rotation, it's due to the padding around the gear. If you edit your SVG in Illustrator or an online editor to remove all padding, AND if the gear is perfectly circular (hole in the absolute middle), you won't experience the bump. I went through something similar when creating constantly rotating gears in After Effects; the same principle applies here.

Yeah I do hint to that in my comments about it might being that but you are right it was the padding around the SVG. Thanks!

Hello! Thank you for all your videos, as an instructional designer using Storyline, I've benefited a lot from them. I have a question if you'd accept any, I'd like to use the text animations in GSAP in my courses but as someone with little knowledge of Js, I couldnt get to do it with the codes I found on the GSAP website. So I was wondering if you could make a video on text animations using GSAP. Thank you again.

I have not tried it myself but I will try to explore it and add it to my video queue.

Thanks for a great explanation. I animated some buttons with gsap using this. However, while it works great in Review 360, 1) the animations did not work in ScormCloud and 2) the course sent nothing to the LRS until I took out those execute JavaScript statements. Now that the JS is greyed out course is working just fine. What is going on?

Good question, I have tested some of this inside SCORM Cloud so it should work but may be an error in the code. Feel free to send me the code.

@@LearningDojo Thanks, Jeff. I'm wondering if it's some firewall thing or something. In Developer tools, I was getting an Actor error message which tells me something is happening on load, right? I'm using your Actor from the LMS code for ScormCloud and having no issues now that I greyed out these Execute JavaScript triggers. //Reference the object let examples = document.querySelectorAll("[data-acc-text='Additional Examples']"); //Animate in GSAP gsap.to(examples, {scale: 1.05, ease:"power1.out"})
