Just started playing. Had no idea you could board ships.

Im used to Guild Wars 2 and Diablo 3 brown items being top tier legendary lol. My family were founders in the original game back in the day. We had an exclusive founders only guild with about 30 members in it that me and my brother founded called Golden Coins. Good times. I remember that every week atleast 4 or 6 people wanted to join and asked me for an invite to our guild, but if they had a blue name and not gold they couldn't join. I have no evidence of this but I'm pretty sure our guild became somewhat of a legend on the server we were on. I remember people following me around asking to group up and if I needed help, "sure let's go sailing" full crew in less then two minutes 7/10 times. My main ship was a War Brig called The Red Viper with a coiled snake logo on red sails. Fully upgraded cargo hall. It was awesome. I remember when the Raven's Cove island and quest came out. Groups of pirates trying to kill this ghost but no one wanting to face tank it and sacrifice themselves, which would mean the whole group of us would die because it would chase us around as we ran for our lives lol. I've always loved the admisphere of Raven's Cove, I used to just walk around and soak it in. I always wished that it had more enemies to fight, not just the ones in the cave. My family played on four accounts every week for the whole lifespan of the game. In all that time only one of us ever got a legendary weapon, and it was that throwing dagger on a super low level characer no one ever bothered leveling up.Thunderspine was the second sword I wanted for years. I'd see people from time to time running around with it and ask them how they got it and where. For some reason we thought there was a secret place or thing you had to do, but nope. Just good old fashioned RNG loot drops with a 0.5% chance to drop the rare items and even lower to drop legendaries. I'm pretty sure I saw a dev say that some legendaries had a 0.1% chance to drop. I remember me and my brother going out sailing around the edge of the map looking for a rare ghost ship that mostly dropped loot skull chests because he read that those from that specific ship dropped legendary weapons, specifically The Sword of El Patroh (or however you spell it lol). So many weapons but for some reason THAT was the one we wanted, we built up a reverence for it. Of course once the game was shutting down everyone got it but it wasn't special anymore at that point, I barely used it or the four shot pistol, mostly out of sadness, lack of time, reason or care at that point. A game that'll hold a special place in my heart forever and spawned tones of fun times, a passion for videogames and great memories. IMO Disney should have sent everyone the game files with their account installed so they could keep playing single-player, but sadly that's not how companies work. They wanted to shut down their MMORPGs as soon as they could to promote and move onto Disney Infinity. RIP POTCO

Good times, it’s a LOT easier to loot legendaries in TLOPO than it is POTCO so if you want to fulfill the dream of getting thunderspine now would be the time to do it :)

Very informative video! Probably not much more to be said on the subject besides maybe the choice of ships for Navy and EITC, because people prefer the Barracudas and Kingfishers due to the flatness of the sloop ship type rather than going with the Sentinel or the Corvette even if those are easier to destroy their hull (only in the EITC case).

Omg! I was part of the group popularizing skull runs with crippling the hunters! Just redownloaded after a few months break to find all kinds of new goodies and mechanics to play with and I'm excited!

Do the ships need to be a certain lvl? Or doesn’t matter
