I’m new to your channel and I really like the content. But I do just have one question, how could you trust that kid to tell you things were ready. I understand good help is hard to find. In concrete when you know it’s not going to happen the first thing you do is cancel the load, that way it’s the only real loss. I think your channel is going to explode soon and I’ll be very happy for you. Keep up the great videos, trust your gut young man. You have a lot of talent. Thank you

First, thank you. Those are very kind words and much appreciated. As for trusting Hunter and Mike they have both worked for me for years. I trust them a lot. Unfortunately it was the first time I left a pour prep in their hands and things didn't go as planned. Was a learning experience for all. Thanks for watching!

I love the transparency on your videos (can’t win em all). What % of your business is concrete work? I have noticed Ryan said he was focused on bigger concrete like parking lots or driveways vs smaller jobs…he can do walls but does not focus on those now. Your business looks huge. I bet you guys could learn a ton from each other…are you close to him in Wisconsin?

Jump out there on knee boards and a mag float and start scrubbing those rocks next time. Try not to bullfloat more than once too, brings out the sand and you have to work harder to burn that sand

10:56 The rebar is basically flush with the ground, I'm no expert(no sarcasm) but I'd say it would need to be slightly higher up to provide any(or more) of whatever it provides... Also, it's not easy to estimate when something will be finished, so if somebody says it'll be finished by 1... you should add a few hours to that.

So trusting the previous guys subgrade is a risk. I pour for plenty of guys that dont know a thing about it and 90% of time its fine. But your tearing out the 10%. Travel time, your mix design, type of cement, and the ordered slump all elements to consider. Some general assumptions on what you did here is ordered 6sk limestone type 3 with hot water and 1% which is essentially lava. If the plant is close. If it was a hike away it couldve been type 2 you ordered a 5 and it just set up to 3inch in transit and the driver wet it up before pouring because its definitely been dryer than a 5 previously based on the appearance. Always screed and float a section before pouring more out. A Dedicated float man something to avoid having to spray water on it . A weighted float blade probably could've solved your problem too. Water hides your mistake but ruins the seal layer. Old mud is a possibility too but that would be 2.5 hours old imo which most plants wouldn't send out

Caleb. I mean no disrespect towards you. You know you shit. You’re very talented. Your crew………..From what I see. Your crew seems to not give a F$$$!!! Unless you’re on the job site. Hunter needs to go. That dude is way too cocky for he brings to the table. I think you are too hard on yourself. It’s your crew that is the problem. I was a business owner for almost 30 years. Had the same issues you are having. People get too comfortable. Maybe you should hire a couple of “Hot Shots” to help run the crews. “What you allow. You encourage”. I’m on your side brother. You seem like a great guy. Just hate seeing this shit. Especially when it seems your employees take advantage.
