I just got into the whole mechanical keyboard thing and lubing switches. I had one switch which had a noisy spring ping so I did it exactly the way you showed it in this video and gone is the annoying spring ping. Now I am going to do the other switches as well. Thank you Betty from @switch and click!

This video helped me a lot. I don't have the special tool for opening so I easily opened them with a flathead screwdriver. I don't have lube so I used dielectric grease. I followed the steps in the video and the result is remarkable. Thanks.

Seriously man this comment physically pained me to read. It will make a difference but dielectric grease is too think and doing it with a screwdriver takes forever. I cannot recommend enough getting like 5 grams krytox 205g0 and a switch opener for like 20 bucks combined. It will be so much better on every single level. Or just by prelubed switches like matcha lattes, vertex v1, or gateron pure berries or a ton of others. But for the love of god no dielectric grease please

I thought it couldn’t be that hard to find out, but apparently nobody knows. The keys are RK’s own keys and they don’t seem to list any details about them. They’re probly just Cherry red clones with a dampener on the stem though.

Do u recommend using Krytox GPL 105 oil lubricant lube for lubing my rk61 keyboard switches?
@kaeroseon

If you bag lube the springs, it’s good for that but for anything else, I would recommend 205g0 or mix the 105 oil with something thick like 205.

@@kaeroseon never mix lubes its not going to end well but like you said he can baglube the springs with 105 but the rest with 205 it will probably be better to buy 205g0 and lube the rest of the switch and tublube the switches with 205g0 then you do not need 105 you can use 205g0 on the spring to.

Dipping is a terrible idea. Try it guys and you will see. If you want thocky sound, just manually lube the housing base (side of the spring post) and put all the springs in a plastic bag and mixed the lube in there and shake. Then buy a cerakey key caps + tape x3 your board. Guaranteed thocky 100%. Donut dipping gives you a terrible sound.
