I know this video is 4 years old now but one way for weapons storage could just be a simple plastic baggie and put that inside the hollow tank so it never leaves it side.

I have an idea for storing all the extra parts - magnetize that top turret panel and glue a metal plate on the inside of the vehicle. That way you can keep your extra weapons on the inside.

Hi Nick in England. I’m Nick in the US. I have to ask - I’ve not done a lot of magnetizing myself, but I want to do this with my new tank - how did you set the magnets? What tool did you use? It looks really clean, I’d love to know how you did it?
@OldAverageBritGaming

Hey Nick in the US! I really thought I replied to your comment, but clearly didn't... or my phone didn't save it...or something. Setting magnets against flat plastic? Typically I score the plastic first to give the glue something more to work on as flat magnet v flat plastic could leave a brittle join and cause them to eventually loosen off. Anything that is going to be internal, I usually smoosh green stuff around them to give more glue surface, or back over them with some left over sprue to form a cage, if there is enough space.

@@OldAverageBritGaming hi Nick in England! Yeah, I got it sorted out. It wasn’t as hard as I imagined when I sent this comment … I just played around with it until it went. @Ole Average Brit Gaming, this was a mini baptism of fire, I was limited to 2mm x 1mm and 3x 1mm magnets and some big ones for the main guns 10mm x 5mm I think. The twin las cannon and the twin bolter were a nightmare as they got crossed or were scew whiff pointing in different directions so I had to include magnets at the tops and sides also to align them properly. thanks for the help i am more confident with magnets now

just practice drillig on a spare bit of sprue if you are not confident with the magnet fitting for the drill bit you are using and as suggested in the video have green stuff and glue handy if there is not enough plastic on the mini to accomdate the magnets.

Great video, I have a question. On the main gun, las talon or Gatling canon. Both are rounded on the end where a magnet would need to go, did you carve a flat surface back there to stick magnet too?

Ok at 4:23 on the video you can see I didn’t flatten it, I just carefully drilled in. For stuff like this, I’d start with a small bit to pilot hole, then gradually increase width with increasing mm bits👍 And yup, pin vice and a steady hand here to go straight. Use the tip of a scalpel/exacto blade to give a central dent mark for the bit to follow

Thanks Nick, your efforts will save many a hobbyist a lot of working out mistake making no doubt. Although I am not a big fan of magnetising models per se, for large/expensive models (Titans eg) or when it's the only vehicle available (as in this case) it makes a lot of sense. :>)
@OldAverageBritGaming

Exactly. I don't tend to magnetise much, certainly never bother with Infantry etc. Id rather buy and build the options. But this tank just has too much going on to have avoided it. And fortunately it has paid off. I did this video pre FAQ April 2019 where Bolter Discipline would have been lovely. After the FAW dropped, vehicles no longer get that ability, so frag launchers etc may now be better as a choice again. Titans for sure, magnets all day long, but yup in general I glue and go.

Do you think this vehicle is viable ? I've got one but not built it yet as it's a big far target
@OldAverageBritGaming
5 жыл бұрын
I think this is very much open to debate. If you run a pure Primaris army, its one of the only (maybe THE only) platform with lascannons on for that solid high strength high damage weapons. However, everyone also knows this and as you say, it's a big target, difficult to hide, and therefore a prime target. Its other redeeming feature is Toughness 8, which is not to be underestimated. In bigger games again playing pure Primaris, it offers that solid weapon platform and the transport capacity, handy for objective securing with its cargo. But given the game is open to the "soup", there are better options to include Lascannons in your army that are cheaper and potentially more survivable because this thing is points heavy! Rule of cool though can outweigh any of the above :)

@OldAverageBritGaming

@1krani
3 жыл бұрын
@@OldAverageBritGaming Well, sometimes. The downside to my thrift is you can't set the tin in the plastic like you can the magnets, so the parts don't always lock into place. Speaking of things out of place, how did you figure the dual triggers on the on the stubber/gatling gun pintle? I tried gluing the gunner's arms to his torso and not the guns, but quickly gave up due to lack of confidence in the plan. Would that actually work, you think? Making it ad-hoc snap-fit like the stubber does to the pintle?
@OldAverageBritGaming
3 жыл бұрын
@@1krani I’ve always gone without the gunner! That way I’ve not had that issue tbh, but if I was, I think your idea on the triggers to the gunners hands is the way to go, or even fully glue the gunner to the stubber. If you don’t pay the points for the gun, replace the whole gunner and hatch attached to the stubber with a closed hatch option? Something to try maybe?
