Yes I am planning on getting into the content creation biz. But I get irritated with all the "get-rich-quick" creators, such as; how to make a colouring book in 2 hours and all it is, is recycled clip art. Not an ounce of creative effort involved. So when I see a video with real info I pay attention to the content.

I've been creating KZitem content and content for my website for a few years now. I also have a mailing list and a forum, so I have gotten to know my audience quite well and understand their needs. Next step - books and courses!

@Dronebotworkshop

@@RachelHarrisonSund I'm certainly hoping to have my first one ready by the end of the year, although right now the focus is on the book. That's actually what led me to your excellent videos, as I want to learn more about KDP publishing. And yes, the mailing list is definitely an asset, I only wish I had started it earlier, but I've still managed to get over 30k email subscribers and I have a 50% open rate. If I could offer anyone advice, it would be to start one ASAP. But by far the biggest asset, in my opinion, has been the forum. I have it set up so that you need to email me with your user information and a reason why you want to join. That cuts down on the number of forum members of course, so it isn't very big, but it has been a goldmine of information as people often write me full-page emails and tell me about themselves. So every morning I answer about 6-10 emails, and I've now answered over 3700 of them! And I really know my audience, far better than I could by using just the analytics on KZitem. The forum has helped me identify a niche for the books that is not currently being served by anyone. In fact, I'm planning on having a few select members preview chapters of the book and give me their feedback. Hopefully, it will be worth all the effort!

I have children's books for sale on Amazon Rachel. What is the best way to monetize that? I also have a blog I pay for through Wordpress, and I have been thinking about an affiliate program, but it doesn't have enough views yet to generate sales. What I THINK I have to do is pay for more social media marketing through Fiverr marketers to get the book noticed in the wider public. As self published, it is harder to find an audience.

Have you considered guest podcasting to get the word out, Jason? If you’re considering it, this might help. The #1 Digital Marketing Strategy You NEED To Know kzitem.info/news/bejne/mImImYqJcaigqpw Also, what about the idea of creating a complementing color book to sell alongside your childrens book. Maybe even consider making a video or two showing us how and why you created the book. Wishing you the best of luck!

I've been a content creator for 3 years, slowly adding new revenue streams. I now have a few books on Amazon, an Etsy shop, a youtube channel, a blog, a podcast, a few courses, and an email list. Unfortunately, after 3 years I am still struggling even though I'm constantly learning and improving. But I'm only making about $500 a month on average.

Thanks so much for watching; it sounds like you've put a lot of hard work and love into what you're creating. What step of the process do you think you need the most help with? And did you give yourself enough time to build out each one of those revenue streams before moving on the next one? It can be really easy to spread ourselves too thin over multiple projects and as a result no fully maximize any one of them. I know for myself I had to focus fully on my one platform (KZitem) and my one digital course (LCPA) in order to gain any traction. Only now, three years later, do I feel like I can start spending some time building up a second platform (Instagram) and working on a second digital course.
