This sound was originally 4 op Yamaha for bass + Casio CZ. The classic is lately bass TX81Z, but FB01 is very similar and any 4 OP Yamaha probably has it. CZ 1000 or CZ 101 have that organ, but others may have it. The other classic organ is M1, but that's a different sound. This sound began in 80s house, continued through Euro House then died after hardbag.

Appreciate those insights mate 👏 Recently found out about that CZ 101 organ sound like 1 hr after uploading this so I’ll probably talk more about it in the next one.

The name PsychotropicCZ is because Casio CZ was used by Psychotropic. Their best known track is Hypnosis, which features the CZ organ preset. The theory of hardbag was people slogging their guts out want a release at weekend. Hardbag was killed by superclubs.

It's not just vocals, the arp technique is whats been missing for chopping up EVERY LOOP and playing it in like you can with serato sample (much easier workflow though). Just brought the organ pack too. Big love. @@SOTASounds_

Do you take the time to go through and do all the processing and perfect every element? It seemed like you popped out this track re-creation like it was nothing and it still sounds amazing.
@SOTASounds_
11 ай бұрын
Yeah, I usually go through each element making sure they all sound good individually as I want the track to sound as close to the reference as possible. Sometimes the source sound is already there in terms of quality though so the processing doesn't require much. A lot of the process is just experimentation to try and recreate certain sounds, or add extra layers to the track.

what was the Mastering you use in this project? is this always the chain you use?
@SOTASounds_
11 ай бұрын
Pretty much. The master chain mostly always uses 2 reference tools (EQ with low cut, & Utility with Mono) + the Mancini Basic DJ Master Chain: www.sotasounds.com/product-page/mancini-basic-master-chain

Love that blue 2 sound mate, do you have any tutorials on drums? That's what I struggle with massively atm just resort to using loops, also do u do lessons?
@SOTASounds_

Thanks bro, the Blue 2 plugin is sick isn't it? Not sure what your style is but I have done a few individual ones on drums so might be worth having a browse. Also got one planned which goes in depth on them.
