Love this and it reminds me of my Mother. I love the way you just do your own thing with resin. I am tired of being told I have to go around the outside or everything goes in the middle. It doesn’t at my house either. 🌷

I love this! One question, why not use caulk in the center to keep from drilling the holes for the hardware? I am going to do this!!
@Happilyeverafteretc
Жыл бұрын
You could easily do that... I didn't want to as I thought it would be difficult to make the caulk in the center the right size for the hardware. You don't want it to be too big so that everything is too loose. With a drill bit I can drill the exact size of my hardware and everything fit snug. Now if you can add something to the middle to make the caulk the exact size of the hardware that would be an excellent suggestion! If you try it let me know how it works!

Hi Betsy! I was wondering have you ever used Dr. Crafty Epoxy Resin? I am new to larger projects. I followed the instructions very carefully and the finished project is bending after a full week of curing. The mold I used was for a wine bottle and it holds to glasses. Do you think If I added a little more hardener it would prevent the finished product from bending? I love your work by the way!
@Happilyeverafteretc

I have never used that specific brand of resin. Some brands never get quite hard enough to hold their shape. Unfortunately it could be a multitude of different factors from the humidity in the air, temperature outside, to the mixing ratio not being 100% right. Sometimes adding a bit more hardener will help and sometimes the ratios not being right makes it worse. You'll have to do a bit of experimenting! Good luck!

Such a beautiful artwork you have done. My biggest concern is that I cannot control the movement of colors. And my resin mix seem to get very hard quickly. I use the same brand as you did in this video. Also the final product still a tad bit flexible. Thank you in advance

Mine r still flimsy and they aren't coming out hard as glass or plastic what am I doing wrong? Should I put a tab bit more of the hardener than the resin?
@Happilyeverafteretc
3 жыл бұрын
If they're coming out flimsy there could be a couple reasons. The most common would be that 1) the resin wasn't mixed quite well enough, make sure to stir for a solid 4 minutes without lifting your stir stick out of the resin 2) the temperature of your work area or your resin may be off. Make sure you're working with room temperature resin in about 70 degree weather. Hope that helps!

You are too cute and I love your videos. I’m going to try the molds. You must be from the south, y’all!! I’m from Louisiana. Question...why do you find the snow cap white different from an acrylic white? Just curious if your were to get the same effect.
@Happilyeverafteretc
4 жыл бұрын
Hi hon! Thanks so much, I'm from Alabama so we're neighbors (although my Mama was born in Louisiana!). The snow cap white is the same in color but I've found that alcohol inks and craft paints are different weights so when you put craft paint and alcohol ink in the same piece the alcohol ink is lighter and stays at the top of the piece where the craft paint (the blush) is heavier and falls to the bottom. I like how it looks but it is definitely a different look then if you use two alcohol inks or craft paints and they blend on the same level. Hope that helps!
