You just need to use a program, like Xsplit, and create a scene in which you have 4 views of your source like in the video. Your source can be whatever: webcam, a program you're using, or whatever's on your screen. You can crop the source and play with the settings a bit. It's pretty easy. I have Xsplit and it took me just about 5min to figure out how to do it and do it. Now if I had a transparent pyramid to go with it...

Hi RG Ogden Jr. - glad that you're getting inspired to play more with the video options! PPT 2010 onward is great with video. You can check out a cool video-related tutorial of mine here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/qoqOrXt7hpaheGU For a landscape, this could potentially work, but it works best with objects that are isolated in black - so one single mountain would be good - but a continuous landscape painting would not look ideal. Definitely experiment though - this is a pretty addictive trick!

@zpython32
7 жыл бұрын
Jeez, everybody is missing the point with these hologram pyramids... Sure, the transparent projection surface helps sell the illusion to some extent, but the whole point is that both the pyramid needs to be constructed properly and the hologram video needs to be showing an object from 4 different sides - each side projected onto one of the surfaces. Then, looking at the pyramid from the corner, each of your eyes will focus on 2 different sides of the pyramid showing different angles of the same object, fooling your brain into thinking it's 3D. Having the hologram rotate is also important in selling the effect. At the very least, it can be the same video on each side of the pyramid, but having proper alignment is paramount to seeing any illusion at all and not just a flat projection.
@powerpointspice
7 жыл бұрын
That's a great point! To fully maximize the effectiveness of this, it is indeed ideal if you look at it from many sides to "sell your brain" the illusion.

@powerpointspice
8 жыл бұрын
2007 is not great for video, as it has very limited options. I am using 365 here (or 2016) but video works well from 2010 onward, so I'd suggest upgrading (or getting a free trial of 365). One way to work around this is to turn your video into a GIF file using something like Giphy.com so that you can embed easily even into 2007. You can then add the sound separately.
@jerelmercurio4754

If one could project a powerful enough foursquare film then 1. You wouldnt need to increase the origin size which is expensive. 2. The pyramid and hense, the hologram could be a lot bigger. 3. Id like to see diff glass thickness sizes Vs thin Vs both sizes of two way.. 4. Has to be a simple other framework of mirrors to amplyfy and enlarge so a tiny phone can end up makin a lifesiize, high quality person.

You can make the picture moving / animated in PowerPoint and then export to a video. You can then follow the same steps for exporting as a 4-part video and then using with the pyramid.

You can definitely do with 3D shapes instead of your face. You can use powerpoints built in 3D models for example.

I have a project to do this year about the fashion I would like to instal a silouetter with a dress that surrounds itself in part of a larger hologram how to do,

You can make the dress with the animations you want in PowerPOint, then export that to a video and then use the same procedure. Sounds interesting!

Question : Is it possible to make a life size hologram, and if so what size screen would it need ?.
@powerpointspice

+crushed51 it's possible - not sure what exactly the screen size would need to be but it would be bigger than most the out there - maybe a 90 inch tv would work. Otherwise the smaller the would work for toddler sizes.

Hi..just need your help,I've tried to make one for my students. I just have trouble with audio after I convert it to video the audio was missing.

Hi Joseph - that's odd. Shouldn't do that. I'd make sure that you have the audio all the way up on your video file (though that's the default so isn't usually an issue). Worst case, you can export the video in PowerPoint, then line up the sound to the video again using a video editor.
