I just found this video. It showed up in my feed for some reason and I decided to click on it. This is a great video, although I know I would never build anything with wood. I only can fantasize about it because I don't have the funds for the equipment. Just curious, where did you get all the equipment, how much did it cost and where did you get training?

GREAT Video Thank you. I found the video very helpful !!! How much space between the outside frame and the inside base for the glider to move smooth? 1/2" to 3/4" I'm guessing?
@Woodumakeit

Good guess. I just went outside and measured it at 13/16". If you'd like the plans (I found them about six months after making the video), just send me an email at woodumakeit@gmail.com and I'll send them to you.

Thanks for the reply, I have had a look at your other vids and enjoyed them as well, so I have now subscribed to your channel. I can't understand with the content that you have, that you only have 52 subs? well 53 now. Take Care keep up the great videos, Barry.

Hi Barry. Thank you for subscribing! I agree with you about the low number of subscriptions and that has been my biggest frustration. But I'm very new to social media and still trying to figure it all out. I am hopeful that my latest posts on Instructables will give me a much needed boost. I am confident that if I am patient and consistently post good content, things will work out. Thanks, again, for your support! -- Mike

Instructables is a good way to go, i have registered on there as well to get a few plans and ideas etc, one tip if you don't mind me saying, try and limit your videos to around 10mins if possible, the people i subscribe too do theirs around that time scale give or take, it's not for me to tell you what to do as i don't even do any videos, but if i was then that would be the time i would try to do. You were saying that you were new to all this, me too at least you do all the videos etc, i wouldn't be able to cope doing that, my mobile is just a basic ring and txt, while my wife and kids have all the internet types ha ha. Keep going and take care. Barry.

Totally agree! I'm struggling to keep the videos short while still explaining how to do everything. It's definitely something I need to improve so that it doesn't take up too much valuable time to watch my videos. Thanks for the reminder! -- Mike

Hi. My husband has just made a glider. We are not sure it is gliding as much as it should be. How should the brackets be angled?
@Woodumakeit
7 жыл бұрын
With the glider that I built using the 10" long brackets, I have them spaced about 19 1/2" apart at the top, and about 16 1/2" at the bottom. I recently made another glider using 7 1/2" brackets. For those, I kept the spacing about the same, but I had to adjust the vertical positioning to accommodate the shorter length. I put a link in the description for the 7 1/2" brackets / bearing straps that I used for the second glider. I hope that helps!

Instructions without giving the dimensions is not a how to make some thing but how to assemble it. There is a big difference. I quit watching when you started rambling about how you got the bearings twenty years ago. Bearings are needed but how you got them is not.

hmmm I still find it amazing that not everyone is exactly alike - because I thought the story about the bearings was interesting AND a very good point about checking with local sources, perhaps you even make a friend ( a real life friend that you might see at the grocery store not an internet friend that might be a bored 15 year old kid) I also tend to dislike how to videos that don't give specifics BUT in this case there were too many pieces to give dimensions for all and I think letting people know its the woodsmith plan was good enough
