The new engine house is a great upgrade to the layout Armando. I enjoyed the demo on how you expanded the control panel. Its neat appearance is a testament to your attention to detail. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I appreciate the comments Art. I really wanted to have at least one of those Pike Stuff industrial buildings in the layout and was lucky to have had that small space in the panel just the right size for another switch. Have a great weekend Art!

There has to be a way to have one button or one toggle switch that momentarily provides power and moves the point with a corresponding LED ? Maybe some kind of relay?

Nice. Do you have a schematic diagram and a detailed parts list so I can recreate this on my n-scale Kato layout? For example, when you described the switch you used, all I heard on your video was triple pole. Thanks.
@abcando1

Thanks for watching and sorry but I didn't use and don't have a wiring schematic diagram, that's why I was kind of repetitive on explaining the wiring connections on the video. I listed the parts that I used below to help you more though: Triple Pole Double Throw (3PDT) toggle switch with 2 positions (On/On) 18 gauge solid wires 3mm LED bulbs 3mm LED bezel 14V 1500 mA power supply adapter Power plug connector adapter

I like the setup but don’t like that when u push the button the whole board goes out I personally would put push buttons at each switch so it’s only switching individual switches
@abcando1
Жыл бұрын
The push button actually just switches whatever toggle switch or switches had been flipped prior to pressing the button, so no need for individual buttons.

How can you use DPDT switches with kato turnouts without burning their coils? I would like to do something similar having some leds in the path the turnout is pointing but I find several design with latching relays

@@abcando1 Thanks, I already saw that. After viewing your video twice I found that you use 9 poles switches. Do you have a schematic or a photo so I can replicate it? I like the idea of having leds marking the turnout direction. It is very useful.

I've read in some model train forums before about using momentary switches with indicator lights for Kato electric turnout. They add a capacitor in the circuit to make it work but I have not really tried it. Google Ray Stillwell BCD circuit and you should be able to find some discussions about it.
