How much did you spend on all the supplies to make the snares? Planning on making some for the upcoming season I'm 2 weeks.

kalilaoboiii707 not including the tools (wire cutters/pliers) 20 bucks will get you enough to make 20 snares of so, the mesh roll is big enough to make approx. 60 snares

Go to Scoripiontube 712 and watch his two part snare video. Much better bait box. Ignore his snare line and sleeves though. Go on line to Mason tackle and buy the 60 or 80 pound leader and the 31D double connectors. Keep in mind the connectors require 2 per snare so here in calif that is 12 per unit. I use the steel leader for the connecting line. The connecting line slides back and forth and if you use nylon it chafes and will break during casting. I make a couple different types now but use Scorpions bait box. Both as taught and also one that is one inch longer to hold more bait. The Red Rock crabs tend to tear this 1/2 inch square wire bait box apart.

The chain links are sold at home depot as regular chain by the foot. you then disassemble the chain to get the individual hooks.

thepopularjockkiller yes, made by promar or danielson, however those loops tend to be very ridgid and do not always tighten up very well.

you attach it to the end of a fishing pole, cast it out, wait a few minutes then reel it in

Awesome, thank you bro for spending the time to show us all. Saves me a ton of money. The danielson snares are garbage. They never stay in loops

I'm very sorry if this comes across as harsh; I really don't mean it to be. I could not finish watching this video because the editing was so bad. Silence for 60% of it, then sped up for the remainder. I realize this video is rather old, so I hope you have acquired more skill in this area since then. Just know that I'm not coming from a place of malice.
