Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I downloaded Tinkercad, and even though I did quite a few of the tutorials, I struggled a bit with using it but SOMEHOW managed to pull it off and make my own 3D model! I am stunned. It's so much easier than Fusion 360 my son was trying to teach me how to use. Now I just need to get him to print it for me and continue with your process. This is so helpful!!!

Oh yay!!! I have a 3D printer, I didn’t know tinkercad could convert the image to a stl. I was dreading the idea of tracing the image on solidworks myself, this is a game changer! Thank you for this 😊

Which Silicone mold product do you use? By the way, you did a great job and great step by step!

Where do you get your silicone mix from? It’s so expensive in NZ

Is there any other way to make the imbed mold without a 3d printer? I dont have one... 😬

Lisa from “I Dream In Soap” showed in one of her videos how she made a cat mold using craft foam. I used my Cricut to make a ton of identical cut outs (vs cutting them all by hand) packed them in a wood box mold, and poured plaster of Paris inside to get what going forward I will just have my son 3D print for me! But it did work, just remember to seal your plaster blank before using it in the silicone. I forgot to do that step and it absorbed moisture from the silicone. The mold came out ok, but the plaster blank crumbled so I can’t ever use it again, to make a second mold, for example, and it was a yucky mess to clean out of the finished mold.

Do you make and sell the moulds yourself? I’d be interested as I don’t have a 3D printer

No, I don't sorry. The price of silicone + the 3d print is too high really, people are too used to the cheap as chips Chinese molds that are mass produced. Price wise, custom molds made as one offs can't compete at the moment.
