@AddisonHughes955
2 жыл бұрын
@@ProfessorOfLogic81 with all due respect, he’s a chef? Like, I think it’s pretty reasonable to expect him to have that INCREDIBLY COMMON ingredient in his house. You could also complain that he didn’t factor the price of the pan, plate, blender, and silverware into the $10. But you wouldn’t do that because this is a pretty obvious bad-faith critique
@ProfessorOfLogic81
2 жыл бұрын
@@AddisonHughes955 no this is not a bad faith critique. He’s not showing other chefs how to prepare this, he’s showing the average person how to. Yes, the average person uses salt, pepper, and olive oil all the time. But panko? It’s not something every house has, and it adds to the cost of the meal. Get bent with your ridiculous comment about the plates. Unless you eat your plates when you’re done with your meal, moron 🤣
@AddisonHughes955
2 жыл бұрын
@@ProfessorOfLogic81 I mean, I think you’re giving these videos a little too much credit. The point of them isn’t really to teach us anything whatsoever - it’s not really that instructional if they don’t say how long to sauté our veg, what temp or time to fry stuff for, how much of each ingredient to use, etc. and that’s fine because it’s not supposed to be a tutorial. The channel isn’t really expecting us to go buy a fast food cheeseburger and make a scotch egg, or to use ten dollars to make a gourmet meal. It’s supposed to be entertainment - “come watch this guy make something delicious out of a few ingredients.” Sometimes they get pretty liberal with what they add to the ten dollars because, newsflash, most fancy dishes cost more than $10 to make. I feel like the plates, pans, etc are just as granular, just as pointless as complaining about panko, because these videos aren’t really recipes. If anything they’re windows into how a chef thinks, a reminder that less can be more. But I think getting all worked up about panko is taking the wrong message from these food TikTok’s lol
