My journey right now, for a while, is rock and punk and getting these acoustic drums, amp distortion, and a general grit in the mixing but also in the production. After seeing this video, I immediately subscribed because I see how far long you are in capturing the naturalist vibes of these sounds on a DAW with programmed drums, just like the rest of us. You’re awesome

But alas, the funny guy is simply a multicellular organism existing on a rock drifting endlessly through the cosmos. Any other notions we may have attributed to said “funny guy” are merely a constructs fabricated by the wonders of the human mind. A beautiful and mysterious thing, the human mind. Capable of such wonder and joy, yet equally capable of such pain and torment.

This is amazing (sounds a lot like Inside Out) if you wanted to get even more of a duster vibe you should put more of a fuzzy tone on the backing guitars. Plus they used a lot of synthesizers and keyboards to get this cool sounding background ambience. But again duster changed quite a bit in there music between on the dodge and contemporary movement so to really capture a “duster” feel is kinda tricky. Another thing you could do is add very atmospheric and compressed, even Shoegazey type, vocals to the track. But I gotta say this definitely gives stratosphere type vibes with the clean guitar, bass and those SPOT ON really saturated, compressed drums. Great job man !!!👏👏👏
@MagicCactus01

Plus the only thing I would change is the sliding on the lead guitar. It gives more of a Shoegaze feel then a duster one. I’m not saying change it but to maybe add some fuzz to it and turn up the volume (some good examples of the bottleneck leads in Duster songs are in Me and the Birds, Travelogue, and Stars will fall). Sorry I yap a lot it’s just I’ve seen a lot of people try to recreate dusters sound and by far your the only one to really get almost perfectly. No hard feelings I’m actually amazed by how good this sounds.

What do you recommend if I want to do something like Orbitron or Stratosphere?
@MagicCactus01
Күн бұрын
@@nachoooo7 Clay and Doge usedlots of fuzz and distortion. If you want to, I’d also recommend putting your audio through a tape simulator to get that heavy lofi sound on whatever DAW you use. I’m pretty sure Bandlab or FL studio already has built in ones, but you can also download ones. Also for the guitar, putting it through cabinets can really enhance the tone. - For Orbitron in particular if you listen with headphones you can hear that the guitar is multi tracked (meaning it’s panned left or right to get a fuller sound) and it causes it, since they recording equipment wasn’t the best, to sound really distorted and really heavy. Personally even though the quality isn’t the best I think it’s adds to the song’s emotionally feel. For the drums, I would suggest adding some compression. That’s really about it for the drums. - for stratosphere, if your referring to the song, then putting distortion on your keyboard or synthesizer is probably the best you can do to recreate duster’s tone. For the drums, I’d recommend adding some compression and a little bit of buzz fuzz to them. Can’t promise you that they’ll sound identical but they’ll sound at least similar.

while the video is GREAT, there's only 2 thing I'd point out. I personally feel like Vinyl would be a better plug-in choice, it just has a lower quality (and it's free). I know it's a rip-off of RC20, but there's kind of an additional layer. The 2nd thing is that repetition is kind of their whole vibe. I've listened to a lot of their stuff, and repetition is kind of a repeating factor. HOWEVER, this is a great attempt! I love every video and I'm a huge fan
