Awesome coverage of the ABCs of how to create the list ... I especially the shout-outs on the pros and cons of using a SharePoint vs Forms, and the downsides of using PowerApps to modify the list form -- I ran into the issue and thought I wasn't doing something correctly to have everything sync up. Thanks for the great demo!

Thank you so much, this was SUPER helpful!! I've created a request form and would like for users to end up on a "Thank You" page rather than seeing the list after hitting submit. Are there different ways to do this?

Thanks, that is a GREAT question - I might do a quick tutorial on that, because it's really hard to track that info down in a way that works with SharePoint. All you need to do is modify the URL you send people for the form - so for example, if you put this on a button make sure to use the "special" link for the button, or use it when you send the link out in an email. Here's the format: /newform.aspx?Source= For me in my dev tenant with an example list it's: buttertoast.sharepoint.com/sites/SharePointAdministrators/Lists/SharePointTickets/newform.aspx?&Source=buttertoast.sharepoint.com/sites/SharePointAdministrators/SitePages/Thank-you.aspx Basically, this is your form URL to which you add a URL parameter to specify the "Source" which is the page it will return to after submitting the form. :)

Greet tutorial - thank you so much. Now going to try and make one that I want anyone to add to but see nothing and also have an approval process, entry number applied and emails! This is going to be scary but exciting thanks to you!!

Good luck on your project! If you're doing approvals, you might be interested in this article - it has the process I usually use with lists in it where you re-attach the approval results to the item. 😄 christine-payton.com/design-a-good-power-automate-approval-flow/

Would it be possible to create an excel like table with power apps?
@bi-ome
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, canvas Power Apps will let you create a list view - it's called a "gallery". The canvas app gallery doesn't *edit* the same way as Excel does, so if you want a true bulk-edit experience I'd recommend a model-driven Power App or a SP list view in edit mode.

I have a problem, where can I view the attachements?

You mean inside the list? They show up at the bottom of the form as links. If you want a column that shows whether or not the items have attachments, you can add it by modifying the view - there's a column for it there too.

@@bi-ome hi thank you for the help! I have successfully done this. However, I have one more problem in which is i want the approval, reject, reassign button available in the item link that the approver will receive. Is that possible without power app? Im trying to avoid using power app as much as i can.

@@farheimer Are you using an Approval flow in Power Automate for your approvals? Those will put the approve/reject buttons in the email. But if you want the direct link to the option that lets you reassign, you can dynamically craft the hyperlink to that object in the Power Automate approvals menu. Do you know the one I mean? it's in the left nav, in make.powerautomate.com, where you can see your outstanding approvals... anyway, the URL format for that is make.powerautomate.com/environments//approvals/received/. If you use the action "start an approval" and NOT "start and wait for an approval", then add your own "wait for an approval" after, you can actually get that approval ID from the output of the "start an approval" step and concatenate it into a hyperlink to the approve/reject/reassign page URL. Does that make sense? Basically it's easier to make a link to the place to reassign than it is to DIY a reassignment button (that would involve using the API).

That's a list not a form.

Lists have a form, that's how the data is entered when a new item is created. Forms are a way for users to enter data into fields in a table. Not sure what your definition of form is. :)
