I work at one of the highest used and new golf cart dealerships on the Gulf Coast. And on the used carts I build for customers we paint all the black plastics with believe it or not truck bed liner in a spray can we use the herculiner brand cause it's a very fine texture and looks like brand new plastic when done and floor mats and it won't ever peel off or fade on the customer like regular satin black spray paint or fade in a few days like that black restore stuff does. It's 20 dollars a can but you can charge 150-200 dollars more for the cart after you paint every single piece of plastic that's black with it. We take the bodies off and all plastics and strip it down to the frame we don't remove any mechanical items like motor and rear trans axle and wires then we use this stuff that turns rust spots on the frame into gloss black primer/paint coating and we coat the whole frame with that stuff and it comes out super glossy black like a brand new frame and we just brush it on with a foam brush not a regular paint brush cause it leaves streaks.

Axis (and other off brand carts) are really the way to go if your buying brand new & looking for an off the coarse cart for recreational use, I have 4 carts (2 electric 2 gas) and none of them are used on a course and I have had to put thousands into them for upgrades over time to use at our campground. (lights, seats, wheels, tops etc)

People here in my part of FL want crazy prices for their carts, they get totally offended at any reasonable offer. They're old and attached to their belongings and no sense of reality. No way to do this on a regular basis in order to make a profit.

I live on the Gulf Coast of Alabama and work at the biggest golf cart dealer on the Gulf Coast we do new and used carts and when we build the used carts for a customer they are 5-6500 dollars out the door. And we literally take the bodies off repaint all plastics back black with a very fine grit truck bed liner so they won't fade or peel and look brand new for years to come we treat the whole frame with stuff that will turn any bit of rust into glossy black rust barrier sealer and turn the rest of the black frame to a nice brand new shiny black. Yes the prices are crazy but 2-3k for a used cart from a whole seller is what you need to look for. They are places they sell carts used straight from the golf course and that's where we get our used carts from.

3k is about the normal price for a rough used golf cart. I work at a golf cart dealership on the Gulf Coast we do new and tons of used carts and we buy them in bulk from wholesellers who buy them from golf courses and we pay between 2200-3k per cart and they are rough shape as well alot of them need new batteries and the suspension is usually bent up so we gotta fix that so 3k is about right and these are 2005-2015 years carts. After we strip the bodies off clean them up repaint the frames with a foam brush and lack gloss rustoleum and we fix everything that is bent on them or wore out clean and polish the bodies the best we can put some 10 inc rims and tires on with the nice ss chrome/black hubcaps paint all the plastic black again with a very fine grit truck bed liner and same goes for floor mats we then sell them for 5-6k and that's with a cheap gtw back seat kit. Golf carts that are used and in rough shape are not cheap by no means and there is still a huge profit to be made on them and I build around 8 used carts a week we sell on average but we have sold so many used carts in last few weeks there is like a 2 month wait ig you buy one today until you can pick it up cause we have solf that many carts that need ti be built and have add kns like back seats loft kits street legal kits body color change is a popular thing for ppl who wanna use thier carts on the gulf course cause the biggest country club in town requires all carts ti be thus special color and shade of green to be allowed on the course at all and Yamaha so happens to sell the bodies in that shade ofngreen already pre painted thabk god.

I just started flipping golf carts here in florida...just starting to learn about them really and i dont really know if i even have an issue with my rear end or not. Hear little clunk when taking off and there is rotational play when i jack up the cart and turn the wheel...about 1 or 2 inches until the rear end moves with the wheel...what should i look for if i pull off the hub...maybe get a stethoscope and see where this sound is really coming from

@Kart Krazy off topic but question regarding speed....I bought a 6 seater to flip and it's only going 11mph...It honestly seems ok to me but do you think I need more speed out of it to sell it? It is 36 volts which surprised me...I need to check the motor to make sure the guy I bought it from didn't just cheap out on the batteries and there is actually a 48 volt motor in there...i don't want to spend $600 on an upgraded controller and solenoid just to get a couple mph...I also don't know if the cart is really that slow anyway...yeah I know carts go 20+ and even up to 30+ but do you think it is necessary to sell it?
