I watched your video and wanted to make a 50x60 blanket. I went and bought 7 skeins. Counted out 70 loops plus the extra two. 6 skeins into making this there was NO WAY I was anywhere near the length. I actually had to take it apart twice to finally on the 3rd try to get the right amount of loops across to match the length and only use 7 skeins. There are only like 9 yards to each skein. I bought some soft Bernat Baby blanket yarn 220 yards per skein and can actually judge the project with a little yarn left over. Please don't tell people all they will need is 7 skeins.
@CutesyCrafts

I'm sorry, that must have been super frustrating! I only used 7 skeins. The yarn I bought looks like it was 18 yards.
@alyssamoosekat
3 жыл бұрын
The bernat version of this yarn has 18 yards per skein and is what she used. You would likely need double that if you were to use the lion brand version as it's about half the size. I can say that her sizing is correct with the bernat brand skeins!

Oh shoot, you're right! I don't even remember how many I used now. I'll have to find my receipt. It might have been 4 cream and 3 variegated. I'll let you know. I have some more detailed footage of how I did the edges. I'll get that edited and up soon. I started out only using the cream, then just worked in little bits of the color here and there. Then I did more and more color until it was more color than cream. Then just straight color. Then I faded back the other direction. I don't know if that helps at all. I was just being artsy with it and did what felt and looked right to me. Oh, and sorry I took so long to respond. Christmastime was so busy!

I’m making a blanket and saw I missed a loop at the left edge (went from 19 loops to 18). I’ve knitted about 2 ft from the missed loop 🤦🏻♀️ is there a quick fix? I’d love a video on how to fix various mistakes. Please help!
@honeydays
4 жыл бұрын
That happened to me and we fixed it by knitting from a new piece of yarn. Get a new piece of working yarn and start knitting from your missed loop. If you only missed one loop then you will be making a chain of one loop on top of one loop and so on, until you have evened up your piece and then you can proceed as usual. This will make a "hole" in your piece, in your example the hole will be about 2 ft long before it joins up with the rest. So then later you will need to sew up that hole, either with a piece of clear thread or some of your existing yarn, just creatively weave the 2 sides together to disguise the hole.

It does a little but not as much as a scarf because there is more weight to hold it down. I found that after using it a bit, there wasn't really any curling at all though because it stretches out a little bit.
