I love how you make these "nicer/better" tricks available to all those kids who are stuck with the magic set they got for Christmas. Just keep in mind: A amateur magician uses beautiful gimmicks from the store, the professional cardboard and duck-tape. Also: I've seen a video of Dean demonstrating the same trick. His box had a a obvious door/curtain on the front side, the back side had a hidden door. The hidden access in the back was only open when the front side was closed. This helps to sell the idea that you can't possibly do anything fishy on the back side of the box.

Sir that is one great home made box just super! Can I add one small detail in my opinion I would make the box taller? Because the kids with clumsy hand or adults with big hands will need the room inside the box to move around without been seen because you can easily expose the trick! To all the children who do this trick do it in front of a mirror many times everyone is different some people a few times other people many times I would do many times because you don't know where your at! Did it until your sick of doing this trick, do it with your eyes closed show your parents, or best friend tell them to help you find mistakes that you make, than you show the world! Good luck!

Great Episode ~ Thank you so much! ~ BTW see this explanation from 11 years ago. The trick doesn't NEED the bo at all! It was originally done with a hanky, and taught in KARL FULVES magic book "Self Working Table Magic" and is called "Loops Entwined" Page 52, Trick 43 ~ kzitem.info/news/bejne/x6ih136jaXV2pXY

In case you didn't know, most of what he has built are commercially available magic tricks. A lot of them have been around for ages. This type of channel is attracting viewers who are interested in magic or magical items already. If someone sees this build and likes it, they can still buy a Deans box if they wish. I think seeing methods and builds like this can inspire people to enjoy magic or develop their own tricks. This should be free to share with those interested and not locked behind the pay wall of the large monopoly online magic shops.

It should be noted that the actual technique has been available for many decades. I believe the Karl Fulves book Self Working Rope Magic has it, except there it uses a handkerchief in place of a box. Make of that what you will.
