It’s usually too hot outside for them, unless you live in coastal Southern California, it can be tough to find the perfect mild climate for them. Many people do find that balance but it’s delicate and very easy to cook your plants unfortunately

I do art & have modeling spoons and ball end tools that would be perfect for taking the individual plants apart without harming them, especial the small curve spoons. Damon said, "Nature kind of has things in odd numbers often." Moment later, "Nature usually has more of one thing." I'm a retired bio/engineer and most molecules in your body are righthanded or lefthanded and mostly lefthanded amino acids and out of over 80 of them only 20 to 22 amino acids are used in Life processes. All the proteins in your body are lefthanded.

We generally use pumice or lava rock and if you want to try another type it’s a good idea to soak it or rinse it really well. But if it’s known to be quite mineraly, I would avoid that particular stone!
