Pins are my best friend on quilling projects. Helps with control of holding the shapes when doing some challenging pieces. This acorn is beautiful!

Thanks so much for watching! I know some people don't prefer quilling with pins on cork boards, but it works for me too 🤩

It looks pretty. But with my unsteadiness, it seems rather tedious to me. I'd be tempted to use the medium brown and fill that area with alternate coiling with several strips.

All the pretty coloeted pins make it almost a shame to pull them out....lol😊

Sooooo pretty! Here’s something probably everyone has figured out already (except me): What straight pins do you use on your cork board? My board seems awfully dense (or I suppose it could just be me)….
@ThePaperyCraftery
3 жыл бұрын
I just use regular sewing pins from the craft store. I have a few different cork boards that vary in density too. I prefer the heftier ones, but everyone has their preference.

I have a crazy question? Where do you get your quilling supplies and what size do you primarily use? Thanks, look forward to ALL your valuable videos!
@ThePaperyCraftery

I always post links to my supplies in the description box for each video. Also, I usually use 1/8” wide paper, but when that changes, I mention what the new sizes are and how I made them.

Is it possible to do larger scale projects on wax paper first and then 'peel' them off for placing on a final surface? Is there too large of a project to do this process?
@ThePaperyCraftery
2 жыл бұрын
It's generally what you feel comfortable with and how sturdy the design is, but I like to make my work in pieces when it gets to be larger than palm size, if possible, then put it together like a puzzle after peeling it off the wax paper.

I’m a beginner. Can I hang any of these projects to hang in a window? Do I have to coat them ?
@ThePaperyCraftery
3 жыл бұрын
I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t hang them. I make Christmas tree ornaments using similar techniques and they turn out just fine. For sealing questions, I have some info in this video and in the description box below 👉 kzitem.info/news/bejne/umuuzYOLr315pJw

I've gone over mounting a couple of times, but there are a lot of details in this post 👉 www.thepaperycraftery.com/quilling/tips-for-gluing-quilling-to-a-background/. I hope that's helpful!

Not sure what "a few dollars" means to you but that lottle purple crimper is $20!

That’s crazy! You had me wondering so I looked it up on my Amazon orders and when I ordered mine in 2018 it was $1.99! It’s coming up as $9.99 on Amazon to me today so maybe it varies depending on where you are? I guess it’s gone up like everything else in the last few years. I have frequently shared a different paper crimper in the last couple of years that has 6 different ways to crimp quilling paper that I think is definitely worth the buy!

Is there a right side of wax paper that you prefer to glue on? I have come to the conclusion I am using WAY too much glue. Lol
@ThePaperyCraftery
4 жыл бұрын
I buy the least expensive wax paper I can find, but one side is definitely smoother or "waxier" than the other. I usually use that side face up. I don't know that it really matters all that much, though 😊
